Reasons For Lightening Your Skin
Everyday more and more people want to lighten their skin tone. There are a wide variety of reasons behind why people want to lighen their skin.
Some reasons are to achieve a more vibrant, glowing skin complexion for beauty, and other reasons pertain to embarrassment and confidence issues cause by age spots, hyperpigmentation, acne damage, melasma, and other skin pigmentation flaws.
The good news is that there are several ways to lighten skin tone, and achieve the complexion that you desire. Some methods of skin lightening are safer than others, less expensive, more effective etc...
So it is important that you do your research and come up with the best skin lightening strategy for you personally.
Below i wil discuss the 3 most common techniques used to lighten your skin.
1. Lighten your Skin by Learning How to Lighten Skin Naturally
I will start with what has been my personal preference for some years now, and that is to learn how to lighten skin naturally.
By using the proper ingredients, miztures, and techniques you can naturally lighten your skin, no matter what the problem you are facing is.
Some common ingredients used in natural skin lightening recipes include lemon juice, whole milk, oatmeal, potatoes, sandal wood powder, tomato juice, bananas, yogurt, cucumbers, and the list goes on.
There are plenty of recipes that instruct on how to make all natural exfollation mixtures, facial masks, peels, creams, and moisturizers. The truth is that when you mix the correct ingredients together you can create the same skin bleaching characteristics taht are found in chemical based bleaching creams, but with out the chemicals, and that is why i prefer this method that involves zero risk of permanentely damaging your skin.
Here are a few techniques that i have found to be effective
- Before bed place a handful of almonds into water and let them sit overnight. Once in water for 8-10 hrs peel the almonds and grind them into small pieces. Then add 1 egg white and 1/2 tsp of lemon juice and mix well. The mixture will form a paste. Once done applied to the affected areas of skin and let sit for 20 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with cold water and moisturize.
- When you are hungry for an orange, peel it and save the peel. Dry them out and blend them into a powder. Add a couple drops of lemon juice and a couple drops of whole mike and mix together. Apply to affected area and let sit for 45 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.
- All natural exfolliation mixture- Take a pinch of uncooked oats and grind them into small pieces. Add a small amount of pure honey and a few drops of apple cider vinegar to the oats and mix into a smooth paste. If needed add more honey. Apply mixture to your skin and massage in small circular motions. Let sit for 20 minutes and then rinse with warm water. This can be done once a week.

2. Chemical Facial Peels
There are a ton of different peels available that use different chemicals to achieve different results.
Chemical peels aim to lighten skin, help fight acne, improve wrinkles, control oil, remove dead skin cells etc. Using chemicals the peel is applied to your face for a period of time and then removed. The chemicals will shed your skin, removing old dead skin and cells and reveal a newer, fresher layer of skin. This skin will be lighter, more vibrant, and fresher feeling.
Although you can perform facial peels on your ownd, i would suggest that you consult your dermatologist before making that decision.
3. Skin Bleaching Creams
There are literally tons of skin bleaching creams on the market today. These creams use active chemicals that are used to lighten your skin tone.
Most creams can be bought over the counter, and a few require a prescription.
Some popular over the counter creams include Meladerm, Skin Bright, and Revital Skin Brightner.
It is extremely important to research what chemicals are included in these products and talk with your skin care professional before using them.
These products work great for some people and tend to cause nightmares for others, so learn your product first and be sure to test it on a small non visible portion of skin first.
One ingredient that i personally would try to steer away from is Hydroquinone. This chemical has been banned in Europe, and more and more studies are showing the true risks associated with using this particular chemical.
In closing i would recommend learning how to lighten skin naturallyand give that a try first before moving on to using chemicals.
