Adopt a Dog Products on Zazzle

by Ragtimelil

The month of October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month and we need your help to get the word out. What are some great ideas for encouraging people to adopt? Take a look at Zazzle.

I'm not the only one putting items on Zazzle to promote Adopt a Shelter Dog month of October. There are some great ideas out there from shirts, to stickers, and buttons to bumper stickers. I've rounded up some great items to help you find just the right product. You might want to give some of these as a gift too for a favorite dog loving friend or use them as a promotion for your fundraising event for your local shelter or rescue.

Bumper Stickers

The first thing I think of when I think of getting the word out is bumper stickers. It's a short, quick statement that can get people thinking. A good design and a succinct message help too. Here is a sample of the bumper stickers that I thought fit the criteria of a good advertising approach. I discounted any that were breed specific.People should feel good about helping dogs in need. Some of the stores even donate their proceeds to their local shelters.

Not everyone is a bumper sticker person, so I've included other ideas that still get the message across without sticking it on your car.

Shirts

Adopt a dog shirtShirts are always a good item. You can advertise your message and wear clothes at the same time. It's a great way to multitask. Some of these shirts really have nice designs although I'm not sure I'd want to walk around with a picture of a sad, neglected dog on my chest. I'll save that for flyers and online pictures. I'd rather show the happy outcome of a dog adoption. I would also want a nice design and nice colors. Don't forget, most of these designs can be placed on 51 different styles. Zazzle has everything from tank tops to zippered hoodies. The sizes range from infant to very large adult.

Cards and Postage

Greeting cards, postcards and postage are more great ways to send a message. It's a little private unless you send a postcard and use postage. I go for the good designs on these so that they almost look like a little work of art. I'd certainly rather receive an artistic one. Still, the message can be there that shelter dogs are in need of good homes and that they make wonderful pets.

There are several styles of cards to choose from and some have matching envelopes and stamps.

Buttons

adopt a dog buttonWhere do I star? There are over 1,000 buttons under the heading of "adopt a dog" on Zazzle. Buttons are fantastic. You can wear them on your shirt or jacket, pin them on your scarf or wear them in your hair. They 're cheap enough that you can buy a bunch of them and give them to others. I'm tempted to start a collection.

They come in several sizes as well as round and square shapes. Often the design will fit on the magnets too. If you don't see one and want it, I recommend asking the store owner to make one up for you. I know I would welcome such a request.

Assorted Items

There are just thousands of products that will help spread the message that October is Adopt a Shelter Dog month. Many can even be used at any time of year. There are funny ones, serious ones, some for all breeds, some for one breed.

I have to say my dog's don't wear T shirts, but if they did, I like the saying on this one. It's prefect for the dogs who do need a sweater or shirt in the cooler months. The sizes go up to fit a 45 pound dog. It's a happy ending to the Adopt a Dog campaign.
