Aerogarden – No Green Thumb Needed

by Angel

Using the Aerogarden is an easy mess free way to grow plants inside your home. No green thumb needed.

The Aerogarden is a unique and revolutionary way to grow plants inside your home all year long. The dirt free aeroponic technology only uses light, water, nutrients, and air. It is that easy. I am definitely one that does not have a green thumb. I kill everything that I buy and plant. I just can't seem to grow anything. That was until I got my Aerogarden for Christmas many years ago. I had seen it advertised on TV and asked the kids for one. I have been able to grow herbs, vegetables, flowers, and greens all year long. I move the thing around to different areas of my home and it does not matter because it has its own grow lights. No sunlight needed. The Aerogarden makes a wonderful gift for anyone and any occasion.

How Does the Aerogarden Work?

The Aerogarden uses Computerized Adaptive Growth Intelligence to grow abundant herbs, greens, vegetables, and flowers. No gardening experience is required with this wonderful device. CAGI monitors the water levels and nutrient levels and alarms you to let you know when to add water and nutrients. Very easy to do. High efficiency lighting and a quiet low maintenance chamber provides oxygen to the plant's roots. The grow lights turn on and off automatically. It is mess free, user friendly, and low maintenance.

Aerogarden Offerings

There are 3 pod, 6 pod, and the 7 pod models available. I have an older 7 pod model that I got for Christmas almost 7 years ago now. The 3 pod unit is very small and convenient to put on your kitchen counter. It is about the size of a coffee pot. I had my 7 pod unit on the counter for awhile but it really took up too much space. I now have it in my office brightening up a dark corner that needed some life.

You purchase the grow kits separately after your initial complimentary supply runs out. You get some with the purchase of the Aerogarden. Afterwards, just go to Amazon and select either vegetables, herbs, greens, or flowers. There are so many different varieties to choose from. My current garden consists of marigolds, lavender, snap dragons, zinnias, geraniums, and petunias. My next garden will consist of lemon basil, chives, dill, curly parsley, sage, and mint. Seed kits are available for additional items such as cherry tomatoes, chili peppers, salad greens, and more varieties of herbs and flowers.

Amazon also carries the replacement parts needed in case of failures. Bulbs and pumps are the most common items needed to replace over time. I have had mine for 7 years and have not replaced anything yet. They are readily available if I need them.

Thank you! I am currently growing Lemon Basil, Mint, Parsley, Chives, and Lemon Mint in my Aerogarden now. I really like it because it is so easy to have healthy plants with this device.

sheilamarie - It is a great indoor garden. Mess free and really stress free too. I could not find my manual or find anything on the name plate telling me total power consumed. However, each bulb (qty 2) is rated for 26 Watts each. They come on and stay on approximately 10 hours per day. The only other thing would be the small pump in the base of the unit. I have not had much luck finding the rating for the pump yet. Will let you know if I can find out.

This is an interesting idea, Angel. Does the unit use very much electricity?
