“Arrangements de Fruits” certainly need some experience with carving tools and you need the best knife for fruit carving if you want to impress your audience with the expertise and skills of a Master-Chef. However; a simple cornucopia basket with fruits is simple to assemble.
You might have enjoyed the fresh fruits and simple chopped pieces of fruits covered in delicious cream, but you enjoy them more if you use some techniques to transform them into beautiful Fall centerpieces which are not only stunning in appearance but edible too
The secret of fruit carving is perhaps to retain its vitality, vibrancy and character concealed in its form without mutilating the organic beauty. This might look like an exaggeration, but the beauty is to keep its natural form without really overdoing your knife skills, you will clearly see that once you start getting the hang of fruit carving and garnishing.

Do you love fruit carving?
Ologsinquito - I must say that a great deal of artistry and talent goes into fruit carving.
Mira - Carving fruit and veggies is beautiful and satisfying.
DerdriuMarriner - I have visited many functions and competitions where fruits and vegetables are used in carving various décor elements. Salads also involve decor and carving. Watermelon, carrots, cucumber and other greens are typically used for carving. With the new tools, any fruit can be carved.
In particular, I appreciate the fruit-bowl set and the fruit carving-related books.
The last sentence under the subheading Fall Decorations with Fruits comments that "With pumpkins, you can pretty much create anything – a swan, a lotus or a lovely boat."
Would there be any fruit, any vegetable competitive with what pumpkin-carving achieves? Or would that multi-tasking versatility lie only with pumpkins?
Carving fruit is a great idea for Thanksgiving or any other large dinner. I'll look into it :)
There is some real artistic talent that goes into creating these masterpieces.
