I have to admit that most likely I will not be able to make anything in this magazine by myself. These projects are DIY projects on steroids. Find someone who can make this stuff, give him/her this magazine as a gift, and let him/her teach you or show you how.

This MAKE magazine even has DIY section for kids, and this volume has an introduction to SCRATCH where kids can make own games and animations. Of course I thought this was brand new until my nine year old daughter told me that she already knew about it months ago... And, my kids already downloaded the program back then.

WHY YOU SHOULD GET THIS

You can buy your guy some plastic junky something for his birthday or for other special occasions, or you can buy him some tools so that he can make his own junk... I mean, toys.... I mean... yep. toys. This Make magazine will keep him busy for hours and days, and he will have no tme to get in trouble of any kind... except burning down the garage, bleeding profusely and having just a few visits to the ER, and forgetting to go to work.
