Article Marketing on Squidoo

I released this eBook in August 2011 to help those new to article marketing navigate around Squidoo. This book is my tutorial on how to build your first Squidoo lens. I've been writing on Squidoo since September 2007.

I am blessed to be a part of the RocketMom community (this community has expired) which is a wonderful mentoring group. I have learned a great deal from all the seasoned lensmasters which belong to this group.

In 2012 a new all inclusive mentoring group started - Rocket Squids - which helps new squids make better lenses. I am a Squid mentor so if you are new stop on by and say hi.

I am also a giant squid which means I've created at least 25 quality content lenses. I've probably written near 125 lenses since 2007 with most being on the topic of crochet.

Now I am sharing with you how I make a lens and how best to utilize the Squidoo web 2.0 venue to market your handmade business or blog.

Building Your First Squidoo Lens

The simplicity of Squidoo is one of the things that drew me to start writing back in 2007. I really don't care for coding even though I can figure out hmtl, I'd rather use the drag and drop method.

Squidoo has Modules which are little pre-coded tools you can just drag into your lens. They have modules for a photo gallery, Flickr photos, Etsy, Amazon, Rss feed, Text which you can use html in, as well as a number of other modules to make your lens just the way you want.

I use Squidoo to publish my crochet patterns and they have a module called 'The Most Important Thing' which works to highlight the supplies and/or notes for a specific pattern.

As you explore Squidoo modules try them out to see what they do. If you are a sports fan they have modules for that too.

Not only do they have modules but they have groups or clubs to write specific themed lenses. Some clubs include the Cupcake club, the Kawaii Bento club, SquidQuiz, SquidWho, Squid Paws, Squid Lit, Squid Sports, Ink City, Best Toys for Toddlers, Big Red Bow, Fat Girl's Closet, Food for Everyone Gardening club, Horse Review, Kids Birthday Party club, and Why Veg.

Just like Wizzley you will find that Squidoo is a fun avenue to write on just about any topic that you find interesting.
