Character Pet Costumes

When I recently discovered that you could buy Star Wars costumes for dogs I quickly emailed a friend of mine who is a self-confessed Star Wars nut as I knew he would simply love to purchase one of these costumes for his little West Highland Terrier.    The only problem being he won't tell me which one he chose, apparently I have to wait until Halloween!

There's actually three different Star Wars Costumes available to purchase for pets and they are Yoda, Princess Leia and Darth Vader.

The Wizard of Oz truly is a classical movie and one that people easily recognize, so why not dress your pet up as one of the characters from the Wizard of Oz.

I think this Dorothy costume is a really sweet pet costume that's only missing one thing - red shoes! I would add some red booties to my dog's feet if I was to dress him up as Dorothy.

As my dog is male though I don't think my hubby would appreciate me dressing him up as Dorothy.   There are some other characters from the Wizard of Oz that are also available in pet costumes however.

I actually saw a bulldog in a Shrek costume last Halloween when we were walking along the esplanade getting ready for the Halloween Parade to begin.  

The squeals from all the children who saw the dog brought smiles to both my husband and I's faces as it was sheer infectious enthusiasm, even my daughter who was trying to be nonchalant about the entire evening couldn't help but emit a 'ooohh, look mum it's Shrek' before realizing that she sounded like a child (she'd just turned 10, but in her mind she was much older and merely there to placate her parents)!

What do you think of this Shrek costume? I love it and I'm sure (after what I saw last year) that it is bound to be a hit for you if you decide to get it for your dog.
