Second how many cupcakes do you usually need to transport - and how strong are you? If your back is healthy and your arms are strong, then a 36-cupcake carrier might just work for you if you make lots of cupcakes for bake sales and church bazaars. However, that's unwieldy and too much weight for my back to carry. So I use 12-cupcake carriers and make 3 trips.

Fourth, take note of how the top and bottom latch together. Is it easy to fasten and does it seem secure. If it's got a top handle, the last thing you want to have happen is the top and bottom separating.
Fifth, does the cupcake carrier have a single top handle or does it carry from handles on the side. Think about which is easier for you to personally carry. Me I carry from the top.
