Establishing An Online Presence As selecteddee
While anonymity is a good thing for many, when you want to establish an online presence it is good to use the same name everywhere you write/create. My online name is selecteddee.
Hi, it's me....selecteddee

A Little About Me
I am a Kiwi woman living in sunny California, with my American partner. At the time of writing, I have been here 9.5 years, and have adapted well to the lifestyle here, although the heat is still hard to take some days. I miss my home country though, and I doubt that will ever change. One of the most special places I miss is the Falls pictured above. This is located about half an hours drive from where I was born and raised.
I was 'let go' from my job about 2 years ago, and due to having always wanted to create and build an online business, it seemed like the natural thing to do. That being said, although I had been working with computers since I was 18 I had no knowledge whatsoever of Internet Marketing, Affiliate Marketing or Blogging.
I stumbled upon some blog posts that were talking about a free publishing platform called Squidoo. As I am sure some of you have, I thought the name completely idiotic, but trusted what I had read and went ahead and signed up.
I had no idea what I was going to write about; all I knew was that I wanted to write, and hoped that someone would enjoy reading it. I didnt know the ins and outs of HOW I was going to get someone to read it, but plowed ahead, reading, learning, applying until eventually I realised that I wasn't going to make a living the way I was doing things.
So back to the reading I went. After reading copious amounts of lenses, blogposts, and 'free' downloaded eBooks, I finally figured out where I was going wrong, and where I needed to focus my efforts. Within 3 months of joining Squidoo I had enough lenses to enable me to apply for Giant status and was accepted. Funnily enough, it was only AFTER I became a Giant Squid that I really started to make what I consider to be acceptable lenses. That is not to say that my lenses were bad; it was just that I learned a lot more about layout and content. I am and will be eternally grateful to the many talented and experienced lensmasters for freely sharing their ideas and tips. It is their contribution to the Squidoo Community that has allowed me to successfully begin my journey towards a satisfying and rewarding online career. Thank you!
Now it is time to consider diversification, and that is what brought me to Wizzley.com. Although I have only made one other page aside from this one, I am looking forward to making many more.
