Getting More Traffic for Our Older Wizzles

There has been some talk in other topics about traffic on older Wizzles fading. I know mine could benefit from some infusion of Google attention. I thought maybe we could brainstorm about how to create new content and get older content some traffic.

I've decided that I'm going to write 50 Wizzles this summer that relate to some of my older ones. Then it'll make sense if I link to them. I'm hoping these links will remind Google that they're still here.

I'm also going to take another look at those older Wizzles and see if I can add some fresh copy, maybe a new product or two, even a video or photograph. So in the end I'll have a new Wizzle and several revised ones. I'm thinking that eventually I'd like my Wizzles all to have a minimum of 1,000 words. That'll happen over a longer period though.

What I'm hoping is that if I spread the topic of my new Wizzles around a bit, buy Labor Day all of them will gotten a pick-me-up.

All great ideas, Digby!  Smile

Here's what's really important these days:

Linking out from your article should always lead to a page that is relevant and offers additional information to readers.

Simply placing a link to pass juice to a blog, or website, or Squidoo lens (perhaps on the same topic but without significant, additional info) is not acceptable anymore. Google will eventually downgrade the original article.

That is a very motivational idea Digby!  I am currently on vacation and getting rejuvenated to focus on some new things, including more writing.  I like your idea of finding ideas from past articles.  I think that sometimes I have great opportunities for linking right under my nose and overlook them because ... why?  I get sidetracked or try too hard to find ways to do so.

Chef, your input definitely makes sense.  I like to think of my blog posts as an offshoot of a longer article I would write here.  I just have to get better at it.

Just a short update on my Wizzle Improvement Project. I have started to see an uptick in my Wizzley adsense earnings from the Wizzles I've been working on. Nothing huge, but the trend is going in the right direction.
