When you find that website creation software like XSitePro automatically creates a mobile alternative for every website created you know that mobile is rapidly moving to the forefront. As a 60 almost I do not have many mobile devices and I still prefer my laptop and PC - perhaps my fingers are too chunky for anything but a keyboard, and my eyes have degenerated enough for small screens to be a problem. However, if I were 60 years younger I would not have the same problems;)

I don't think you are ignoring mobile - OTHER people are, though..

Atta Admin!

I DO hope you don't feel under appreciated!

Chef, It's obvious a great deal of thought, talent and hard work went into Wizzley.  Its very obvious, it shows!

I get it and appreciate it, no put downs intended!  I will shut up now Sealed

No one would actually use a table to write on though would they - well not for longer than 5 mins!  I see the split that tablets/phones are for consumers of information and laptops/netbooks are for those who create said information.

I don't care how fancy the OS or interface is - you can't touch type on a flat shiny screen! And even if you plug in a keyboard you have a worse ergonomic arrangement than the cheapest 10" laptop!

I see iPads and tablets as just the latest expensive toy fad.

I cannot BEGIN to tell you how wrong you are..   I write for hours on my tablet.

These are NOT toys and they are only going to become more powerful.

But never mind - you are welcome to have your opinion - just like the people who said similar things about PC's when they first came out.. :)

One quick story.

When I first got my iPad, we took a trip the next week.  At the beginning of the NJ Turnpike, a customer called with a problem.  Using the iPad while my wife drove, I RDP'd to their system and fixed their problem.

Toys can't earn you $600 while driving down the NJ Turnpike.. that iPad almost paid for itself that one day.

Well I'm going to forge ahead despite some viewpoints on how certain forms of technology will inspire reading or writing of content creation.

@ 42 years of age and one for my age group to take on new tech, I must say that as a through and through PC person it was daunting going out and buying a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, nut I only did this after much research and at a price that was almost a steal.

But bought one and consistently use it nearly everyday. A new toy and a fad? Sorry Lissie, have to disagree with you here. What persuaded me to get a tablet rather than an ultralight or heavier set laptop is time. I have been pissed off for over 15 years of waiting for Windows to bloody boot up on a device. From start to finish, I can now start up my tablet and be writing an article on Wizzley, using the web format not the mobile one, in under a minute.

I have a physical keyboard that turns the tablet into a 10 inch screen and its a joy to type on. The Samsung I got rather than a iPad because there is more 'Windows' style functionality I can use with the device when working with PC/Windows based files and media and sharing info between a tablet and PC and vice versa.

As Tony has said too, Microsoft is turning Windows 8 into a tablet based OS rather than a PC one as its primary use. That pisses me off as well, because its a kind of a 'thankyou, but fudge you, you old computer geeks', but it is the way of the future for change in computing frontiers. Out with the old Windows and in with the new tablet style.

I am actually predicting that tablets will become so popular that households will have 2-3 per house come 2013, thats how many will sell.

I couldn't imagine touch typing on a tablet for long, so I can't imagine doing serious work on one. But I do have one and love it for browsing and staying in touch. I use a variety of tools throughout the day, depending on the task at hand.
