Traffic Note of Encouragement

I understand and respect all your views regarding traffic I only add my own to encourage you NOT to dispute ANYONE!

that being said...

I probably wouldn't be here today commenting if it weren't for some of my recruits who were worried about my absences as of late.  For those of you who don’t know my dear sweet mother passed away this march, it was from a sudden illness we did not see coming. Since that time my siblings and I have taken on the task of going through the estate, house and properties none of which any of us can take on as we are scattered across the states. We've been going through a lifetime of memories and collections all more difficult both physically and mentally than I care to mention. I came back to let you know it is only due to my family circumstance I've been absence and also wanted to take a moment to weigh in on this issue of traffic brought my attention via email.

No offense to anyone and yet here I go with my two bits;

I personally rarely if ever look at Wizzley numbers, no offense Simon you know I adore you Laughing

I rely on those who pay me monitoring my GA and Amazon etc. balances. Money Mouth

I always read emails, and participate in advice and activities the above mentioned clients provide as I feel in order for them to make money they need for me to make money! Google provides great help!

I have always believed and still to this day believe you can only gain traffic and earn money when you build a substantial body of work and to that I mean build a large number of articles. YOU will not gain traffic or earn money on a small number of articles and if so it will be little or a stroke of luck. I feel the number should be anywhere around and above 200.  I want to have as much real estate as I can get my hands on because I know, just like monopoly the more properties you own the more you make. Think of articles as properties.

If you build it they will come.  Seriously!  It's all in the numbers I think we need more quality numbers.  I challenge everyone to set a goal of getting your article count up to 200 quality articles and then lets come back and revisit this issue.

If you need any help feel free to message me I will make an effort to watch my phone for emails notices and answer my messages but for now I'm back to task.

Much Wizzley Love and Success to All,

Katie

Great advice Katie. I have119 articles up. I've been neglectful of writing, because my mother is back from the nursing home again.

I set a goal yesterday of getting 100 articles out by writing at least one a day. I'm going to choose a niche.

My Amazon clicks are really up recently, and I've made a sale this week.

Brenda, That's fantastic, the sale that is, keep going! Build on that.  I like diversity in topics to some degree writing a range of at least 15 or 20 articles on the same topic other than that it's good to branch out on other topics after all writing article after article on one topic over and over becomes a bit over kill and duplicate after a while. Plus you get burnt out and begin sounding stale.

I'll remind you of you goal... maybe come up with some ideas for you!!!

As for your Mom oh girl for so many they would say that's good news but I know all to well how scary that is and how well she was flourishing at the home. I understand how hard it is for both of you and will maintain my most positive thoughts for both you and your Mom. Remember to take good care of yourself as you and I both know it can go to pot so quickly and that's NO GOOD!

Katie, I've always jumped all over the place with my writing. I do get bored. I wonder which way produces the best results?

I feel it's okay to vary if you have a good number of articles covering each topic you write about say at least 15 to 20 articles on each topic keeping the numbers balanced as you grow in numbers. Something I need to work on is my balance. Some of mine are low in numbers while others are high.  Watch your GA and Amazon numbers and earnings, what pays write about more until you exhaust good content that is, never write dribble.

It sounds like many of us have had a tough year. I know my family has also had a lot of illnesses and storm damage to dealt with. That's why I haven't been around much.

I also second what Katie said. I've got almost 200 Wizzles and I'm working to find the time to spend more time here. I've got lots of stuff at other sites as well as my own. I've got admit that I feel the safest and most comfortable here. I think as we add more content, the traffic will take care of itself.

Katie, sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts go out to you in this time of sorrow. My hope is that you get to the end of your tasks as quickly as is possible, and that you come back to us in good time.

Your words on the requirement for a serious portfolio of articles is well noted. I too have been less than productive recently - testing out ways to earn outwith the Web 2.0 platforms. However, I have a base of unpublished material that is only really viable on such as Wizzley, so you lot will have to put up with a great swathe of new material from me, shortly.

If you remember about a year ago I made a call to action for active writers to get to 100 articles. That went very well, I recall. Your call to action to get to 200 articles is great and well-timed. Let's hope that too goes as well!

Again, my thoughts are for your current family issue. XXX

I'm glad that we are all working our way back and returning to Wizzley. I think that's a fabulous sign and says a lot about the people who run the place. I hope Chef Keem's wife is on the mend as well.

I look forward to seeing a new productivity surge. I'm going to try and get up 250 Wizzles as the summer progresses.

Digby, You go girl!

I haven't heard about Chef's wife and I too hope she's enjoying some successful healing.

Don't forget about the list Chef created for topics to write about. I wonder if those that have been taken could be identified by those who've written on the topics.  It's somewhere here in the forum, I'll go look for it and report back.

So sorry to hear your news and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I think I must have missed the email you mention - although I know at times my email filter can be quite vicious!  I wonder if it has been shared on here?

I'm so sorry to hear the news katie. I hope everyone is having better times soon. I've been absent because of general life malaise and working like crazy on my Zazzle store - and now they've changed everything  - ugh!

I have to say I did sort of run out of steam here. I wasn't seeing much response - other than the great folks here, of course. I don't really plan to give up. It just might take me longer to get to 200 than I originally planned. I have a few started, but I have a hard time getting back to half-finished ones.

Thanks Lana BTW your content is great and sorry to hear about Zazzle that is one place I just can't seem to get the hang of. I know many do and do it well I'm just not one of them.

Aw, shucks, thanks Katie.

I've been really working at creating a category for every breed of dog. I finished with almost 200 categories of AKC breeds and started on another 100 or so UKC breeds. I liked the way the silhouettes looked on the page. Now they've hidden all but about 20 categories and covered the bottom of the image with a box. GRRRRRRRR.

It really annoys me since I was trying to make it easy for people to find products with their dog breed on it. Now it's just a mess.

Lana, Oh my that is frustrating to say the least and just after working so hard. I think the best course of action is to take a break from it for a while to make certain they are done with the tinkering so's not to well you know undo any more hard work...

Thanks for saying what I was thinking from three years of regular web writing, Katie. I had 100+ articles in my portfolio at my last site, but not all of them are any use at all here. I have more work coming out though so I will cumulatively end up with a larger number of articles given enough free time to write them and learn from what worked previously or not.

By the way, no worries about the absence. Well understood here - we lost one of my husband's relations recently too and that was a right to-do and a half.

Sending hugs and chocolate.

Described by one of my clients as 'a literary grammarian', writing, researching and reading are requirements for sanity, at least this side of the keyboard.

Katie I understand and feel your pain, I too lost my mother earlier this year. Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, hyperthyroidism, falling out of her bed at the nursing home and fracturing a vertebra, breaking her dentures and suffering a nasty laceration in her scalp. With all that unpleasantness, mom managed to keep her pleasant disposition until which time the lord called her home

On the business side of things, I’ll see what I can do about getting my article count up to a respectable 200, sounds like a doable goal it will just take me a bit longer. I as many writers did with all that panda stuff while at HP, learned that putting all my eggs in one basket is not a good idea.

Love and best wishes to all.
