You don't need to love of math to laugh at it!
Math. Is laughter the first thing that came to your mind when you read the word? Probably not, but maybe I can change all of that. Math is fun and you only need a sense of humor to laugh at funny math t-shirts, jokes and other math humor I have collected on this page.
Math seems to be one of those subject that people either love or hate. Being a lover of math, and being married to a rocket scientist (therefore an inherently brilliant mathematical mind) I have never quite understood why some people hate math. How can a subject so basic to our day to day life be thought of as anything but interesting?
Today I will show you that it is not only interesting, but it can actually make you laugh. A few of the jokes here require a bit of advanced knowledge, but most use the basic math we all learned in primary school.
So, for the next five minutes, I ask you to throw out your preconceived notion that math is yucky, sit back, have a read and see if math can make you laugh.

A Math Riddle
Just for Fun
Three women are out on a girls' weekend. They arrive at the hotel and the desk clerk charges them $30 for the room, so they each pay $10. Later, when the manager returns, the clerk is informed of the hotel special rate which is only $25. The manager gives the $5 to the clerk to bring to the women. The clerk pockets $2 and when he arrives at the room he gives $1 to each of the women.
This means that each women actually only paid $9. Let's do some math, remembering that they originally paid $30, they were each returned $1, and the clerk kept $2.
So, they paid $27 for the room (9x3=27)
The clerk has $2 (27+2=29), so where did the extra dollar go?

Yup. That is fun. Math (or Maths as we used to say) can be used to prove virtually anything. Though I can't figure out how that works.

Math should be (9 x 3)=27
$27 - 2 = $25 (what they paid for the room)
