Halloween Frankenstein Costumes for Babies and Toddlers

by JoHarrington

Thunder crashes and lightning strikes - a hit! A creepy laboratory filled with crackling and light! But wait... What a cutie Dr Frankenstein's little monster is this time!

What is fright packed fun without a mad scientist attempting to become the new Prometheus?

The smoke clears and the creature rises. Through the final hiss of sparks and engines, we recoil in horror as we await the ghastly thing.

Recoil in horror? Yeah, right. More like have the Mother of all Cute Attacks, as Frankenstein's baby creature lumbers into view. I mean, look at it! Could there be a sweeter sight for Halloween night?

Get a lil' Frankenstein's monster outfit!

Frankenstein's Monster Outfit for Babies Aged 12 - 18 Months

This little sweetheart is in an In Character costume created especially for Halloween events.

What you see is what you get here, except for the infant and the shoes.  Those you will have to provide for yourself.

Made from polyester, the Frankenstein Monster Infant Halloween Costume comes in two pieces. There is the jumpsuit, with press stud snaps for easy diaper changes; and the hood, which fastens with Velcro under the chin.

I love the detail on the hood!  From the plush hair tufts, through the red scar printed on, to the bolts sticking out from the temples.  Ridiculously cute!

These little monsters are so cute that you won't want to hide under the quilt! Let your little one be the talk of the party in these infant Halloween outfits.

Frankenstein's Monster Jumpsuit for Babies aged 0 - 12 Months

Awww! Bless!

This gorgeous Halloween one-piece suit will fit your littlest Frankenstein's monster.

Made from 100% polyester, it comes in two sizes.  One for newborn through to six months; and the other from six to twelve months.

The sweet, green hat and black booties are included in the costume.

The Lil Monster Jumpsuit is part of Rubies Costume Company's My First Halloween outfit collection.

There are press stud snaps between the legs for those urgent diaper changing moments.

This is what Dr Frankenstein was aiming for, rather than what he actually got!

Don't try clicking the image, it won't take you anywhere!

This lovely, little creature costume is created by Mullins Square Kids, and it's available from Invitation Box.

It's a four piece outfit. You will receive the tattered suit, brown shirt and that distinctively decorated hat.  The headpiece does cause comment (mostly 'awww!'), as it's sturdy enough to keep its shape.

The light-weight linen makes it perfect for warmer climates, though those in the chilly north might wish for something heavier.

Boris Karloff as Frankenstein's Monster

Let's remind ourselves again of the master at work. Here is the creature's entrance in Universal Studio's 'Frankenstein' (1931).

Frankenstein's Monster and Bride Outfits for Infants aged 24 Months

Officially licensed by Universal Studios, the Lil' Frankie and Frankenstein's Bride outfits are the classic deal.

It was Universal Studios which popularized this look for both creatures, as seen in James Whale's movies.

Boris Karloff and Elsa Lanchester's make-up is what we are all trying to copy today! (As opposed to Mary Shelley's versions, which are nothing like this.)

The Lil' Frankie three piece outfit is comprised of the tattered suit and the headpiece hood. The jacket is actually attached to the pullover top. The bottom of the pants has shoe covers attached.  You just need to add your own shoes underneath.

The Frankenstein's Bride costume is in two pieces: the dress and the veiled hat.  It is 100% polyester.

They come in two toddler sizes:  1-2 years and 2-4 years.  I've labelled it as 24 months, because that is the manufacturer's recommended age. It may come too big or small for your little one otherwise.

Of course, it may just be easier to say that the costumes fit infants up to 39" tall, with 22" waists!

Boris Karloff and Elsa Lanchester in 'The Bride of Frankenstein' (1935).

Another classic scene from Universal Studios. This portrayal set the tenor for all that was to come!

Happy Frankenstein's Monster Outfit for Infants Aged 2 - 4 Years

Was it all getting a bit scary up there?  Not any more!  I doubt I've ever seen a more cheerful Frankenstein's creature!

This three part outfit is made up of the pants, top and mask.  I can't get past that mask. It's grinning at me!

The Toddler Monster Costume is for those little ones who want to prove that the creature wasn't so scary after all.  Just misunderstood.

In many ways, that's closer to Mary Shelley's version than any that's gone before.  Though perhaps not so much the smile.

AWww! I did kind of spot a niche and jump in feet first. But the outfits were just so cute!

I'm guessing from your reaction that this is one of my better moves then. And {{{hugs}}}, whoever said on-line writing was an easy livelihood has never tried it.

I shall check out YouTube forthwith! Thank you for the tip.

It's cute. I remember when one of my nephews was little. He had a thing about telling everyone that he was a little monkey. It gave him great delight to be called one too.

Not quite a monster, but still cute. :)

I like it when babies advertise "I'm a little monster" ;-)
