When learning how to draw a Cartoon Dog, it's best to follow an example first and then from there try and draw your own interpretation of it so that you learn. As always you can start off with a round oval shape that represents the head and work on the curve that is the foundation for the body and from there follow the step by step pictures and try to draw this Dog idea in Cartoon form.

Use An Ink Pen To Ink The Full Pencil Drawing
Ink Your Drawing
Using a gel ink pen or any kind of ink pen you can draw over your pencil lines and improve the drawing at the same time. The idea is to try and add small details and slight touches that help bring your Cartoon Dog to life.
The more you get used to inking your work, the better at it you get and your art style will emerge eventually bringing a sense of capability and confidence to your Cartoon drawings.

Coloring With Crayola Twistables
I used Crayola Twistable pencils to color in this Cartoon Dog drawing. I hope that your own drawing is looking exactly how you want it! Now I used a few colors for this one:
- A Dark Brown for the Dogs fur.
- An Orange for the Dogs Fur Mid tone
- A Yellow for the highlight on the Dogs fur
- Red for the collar
- Blue for the eyes
- And a Peach color for the Dogs Mouth
If you want your drawing to look smoother I suggest using a White Crayola pencil to blend all of the colors together, but that's not essential really.
