Hunger Games: Katniss Everdeen's Costume & Makeup

From The Book: "I swing my legs off the bed and slide into my hunting boots. Supple leather that has molded to my feet. I pull on trousers, a shirt, tuck my long dark braid into a cap, and grab my forage bag." Chapter 1

These lines tell us a lot about what Katniss's get up is usually like. The boots she wears are knee-high brown leather boots which allow her to move swiftly through the forest and hunt animals. Make sure your boots doesn't have a lot of buckles and stuff as Katniss's boots are very simple.

We know that the jacket Katniss wore belonged to her Dad, so what will be best is that you grab an old men's jacket from a store that sells second hand clothes. The jacket should not be new as Katniss's jacket was quiet old and worn out. 

Katniss's weapon of choice is her wooden bow and arrows. She hunts in woods with these weapons and is a fierce and expert archer. If you are dressing up as Katniss Everdeen you would be needing some arrows and a wooden bow to complete the look.

When Katniss is in the Hunger Games Arena, she chooses an entirely different Recurve Bow for her fights. This bow is beautifully made and is quite opposite of the wooden bow she had inherited from her father.

Give a finishing touch to your Halloween costume by adding a bit of make up to look like Katniss. Follow the simple steps shown in the video and you will be ready to go to the parties as the stern archer heroine of the Hunger Games.
