Is the Nikon Coolpix P500 a Good Camera

The Nikon Coolpix P500 has a 36X wide angled optical zoom. I have been able to zoom into just about anything and get a clear picture. I have been very happy with this function so far.

It takes incredible photographs and movies in high speed action. The Vibration Reduction Image Stabilization System reduces streaky images. It has a motion detector that identifies moving objects and then adjusts the camera's settings so you don't miss any of the action. It lets you select aperture and shutter priorities. Manual exposure mode puts you in complete control when using this camera.

Taking pictures at night is a breeze with this camera. It has Advanced Night Landscape and Advanced Night Portrait modes. It captures fast action, low light images, and panoramas for stunning photos. It automatically reduces red eye and even has a Blink warning to let you know when your subject has blinked!   

I looked at many camera stores for the Nikon Coolpix P500 and found that all of them were at least $100 higher than Amazon. Some of them had rebates that you could mail in and get that $100 back but all that is a pain. I purchased my Nikon Coolpix through Amazon along with a few accessories like a camera bag, extra battery and tripod. All of these items were in stock at Amazon. The camera itself was $399.00 at the time.

There are newer models out already since I have purchased mine a couple of months ago. Those newer models are a little higher than what I paid. Either would be a great purchase that you would not regret.
