Rain Boots for Kids and Women: Bogs, Hello Kitty, and Ladybugs
Kids love to splash in puddles. Keep your child's feet dry with rubber rain boots. Boots for older girls and women, too.
Do you wear rubber boots in the rain? I do, because unlike Gene Kelley, I like to keep my feet dry while splashing in the rain puddles. And how can you enjoy a walk in the rain without splashing in a puddle or two?
On this page, I’ve included rubber boots (otherwise known as gum boots) for children and for grown ups, too. Children have a silly habit of getting bigger, and it’s sometimes difficult to draw the line between sizes for young children and sizes for their older siblings.
The opposite is true as well: some adult women can have very tiny feet. So on this page I have included rubber boots for women and for children, too. Men will have to find their own page, I’m afraid.

Bogs for Women and Older Girls
Keep Your Feet Warm and Dry
Once while sitting in our local cafe, the proprietor came up to me and asked me if I would be interested in buying her daughter’s second hand boots. They were expensive, she said, but stylish, and her fifteen year old daughter just had to have them. Unfortunately, after wearing them for just about a month or two, her feet grew and they no longer fit.
But they fit my feet perfectly. I was the lucky recipient of her fashion craze. And I have been very happy with them indeed.
Bogs boots are insulated so your feet stay warm as well as dry. For that reason, they are great for the in between seasons when winter boots are no longer necessary, but it’s premature to wear sneakers or shoes. I have actually been wearing my Bogs all winter because I take a boat to town and find them more convenient and useful on the dock than my other boots. As I’ve said before, my Bogs keep my feet dry.
They come in a variety of patterns and colors. They are mainly brown, black, or gray with sprigs of flowers that climb up the sides. These flowers are where the color comes in.
Mine look like retro ’60’s flower power. The flowers are turquoise and yellow against a brown background. They’re cute, though probably not my first choice of colors.
You, of course, could choose your own colors and style. Here are the ones I’ve found to share with you.
Kids' Boots with Handles
Fun Styles
Children’s boots can be a lot of fun. One of the things to look out for when choosing boots for a young child is how easy they are to put on and take off. The best, of course, is a pair of boots that the child can put on him or herself.
Some of these boots have little handles built right in to the boot that the child can hang onto while sticking his or her feet into the boot. Your little one will be proud to be able to put on these boots all by him or herself!
Many of these boots have matching coats and/or umbrellas. You can find these sets by checking my other pages on kids’ umbrellas and kids’ raincoats.
Hello Kitty Boots
Is Your Child a Hello Kitty Fan?
Some children get attached to a character they have seen in a movie or read about in a book. Although not all parents appreciate deferring to the grand marketing schemes that fuel these promotions of cartoon personalities, some parents don’t mind and actually choose them because they know their children will wear whatever has the face of their favorite character imprinted on it.
Of the many options I could have chosen, I have decided to feature Hello Kitty boots, mainly because Hello Kitty is a big wig in my granddaughter’s kindergarten class, and also because I have included the Hello Kitty umbrella in my Wizzley article about kid’s umbrellas. If you are the kind of person who likes things to match, these Hello Kitty boots would look great paired with the Hello Kitty umbrella on that page.
The first pair of boots I've featured are available in a matching pair for women. These would be fun to wear as a mother-daughter combo. Or maybe your older girl likes Hello Kitty, too, but has grown out of the child's boot sizes. She doesn't have to feel left out as she can probably fit into a small women's size.
Butterflies, Alligators, and Ladybugs
More Kids' Rubber Boots
Of course, maybe Hello Kitty or even the color pink is not for you. Here are some alternatives. Butterflies are a delicate and graceful image to put on boots. If butterflies are too pretty for you, what about an alligator ready to gobble up whatever gets in your way -- slush, snow, even mud or sand?
Ladybugs are a popular bug for young children. Their bright red color is often a favorite, and the fact that ladybugs have black spots that kids can count, makes them friendly and appealing.
