Men's fashion and other inspiration worth sharing

I was not always into clothing, shoes and accessories.  It is easy to get sucked in and even easier to ignore it all.  I find that the perfect balance is to find brands that inspire you to really want to dress well.  Dressing well is not simply about wearing expensive clothing or "trendy" clothing, but rather about choosing pieces with the kind of flair that matches who you are.  It is far worse to wear nice clothes that do not fit who you are than to wear decent clothes well.  Paying attention to quality should also be a major consideration.  Let's start with apparel. Rogue's Gallery is one my favorites. I discovered this brand online and I haven't looked back since.  Their tees work in a number of situations.  They are incredibly soft, form-fitting, and get printed in Portland, Maine.  They put a lot of clothes on sale and keep them on sale for a long time.  Also check out their accessory section.  They have some really cool bags, jewelry, and other interesting items.  If you are looking not just for clothes, Hickoree's Hard Goods is a great place to go because, just like the general stores of yesteryear, they sell just about everything on this site.  Not only that, but they only sell products made in the USA.  While on the topic of brands that are made in the good ol' USA, another personal favorite of mine is Quoddy.  If these shoes don't inspire you, no shoes will.  If you are willing to make an investment (and believe me "investment" is the appropriate term here), you won't be disappointed.  These shoes are handmade in Maine and you can send the shoes back to their workshop to get resoled at any time.  Nothing is more comfortable than a pair of boots or bluchers from Quoddy (trust me, I own one of each).  Marc Jacobs is another fun brand with a cool Urban Outfitters-esque style.  There are a couple of stores throughout the US, the one in Savannah, GA is a common stop for me when I am down South.  It may lighten your wallet, but plan your wardrobe carefully and you choose a couple of really good pieces.  A good mixture of Ralph Lauren, J Crew, and Urban Outfitters that might raise some eyebrows is Rugby Ralph Lauren.  Their rugbies are not only comfortable and form-fitting, but they are also unique and can be great layering pieces.  Add a couple of those to your wardrobe and you will always have something cool to throw on in Spring, Fall, and Winter.  

While Quoddy and Marc Jacobs may not have real sale sections, they are still definitely worth checking out.  You never know when that unique look you are sporting might make a big difference when making connections, going out on the town, or just to give you that ego boost you really needed one day.  Jus remember to have fun with your wardrobe and dress like yourself!
