Putting a Cat in Costumes? You sure can!

by WritingSharon

These days, Hallowe’en is becoming more and more popular. As a result, people are putting their cats in costumes. Here are some cat costume ideas.

Many of us treat our pets the same way that we treat children, especially if we do not have kids.  This goes for the holidays too where our cats are given gifts even though we have to help them open them, so why  not put your cat in costumes for Hallowe’en and show them off like you would your child?  You likely don’t want to take them out trick of treating, especially if they are black and due to not many cats will walk on a leash, but you can still show them off as a cat in costumes on your Facebook or other locations.  If you need cat costume ideas, here are some to get you started.

Intolerant Cat

When looking for something to purchase for cats in costumes, it is a good idea to think about what type of costumes your cat will tolerate.  My one cat does not like to be touched unless it is on her terms.  For that reason, when looking for ideas of a cat in costumes, they need to be simple and easy to put on.    Cat costume ideas such as something with a simple cape or maybe a hat would be a possible idea to put on her.   Other cat costume ideas might be a bow that I can tie around her neck or a hat that would go around her neck.  That doesn’t seem to bother her as she wears a collar all the time.

Laid Back Cat

If you have a laid back cat, cat costume ideas may be easier to find.  One thing to keep in mind when you are looking for cat costume ideas is that quite often dog costumes will also work when you want to put your cat in costumes.   Chances are a laid back cat will allow you to do pretty much anything to them as long as it doesn’t hurt them.  I am pretty sure that my other cat, who is laid back, would tolerate me putting a full costume on him.  I’m not sure how long he would wear it, but I would be able to get him to wear it long enough for me to take a few pictures.
