Skagen Watches - Stylish, Slim And Affordable

by Thamisgith

Skagen watches are ideal for anyone who likes a slim, stylish watch. They are also very affordable.

Watches are always a great gift idea. Most people will already have one of course, but there's no harm in having two (or three, or four...).

You can wear different watches in different settings and with different outfits - so there's no danger of a watch being a useless or unwanted gift, as long as you choose one to suit the recipient's taste of course.

Some people like big, chunky watches with umpteen dials and protruding buttons all over the place. Others, like me for example, prefer super slim, lightweight watches that won't catch on your sleeve and don't weigh a ton.

It's very much a matter of personal taste - but if you're shopping for someone who likes slim, stylish watches, then you absolutely have to cast your eye over the Skagen watch collection.

Skagen watches have clean, crisp and contemporary styling and are super slim. They look great - and they don't cost a fortune either. You could very easily have a collection of these (in fact, thanks to my lovely and generous wife, I already do).

They are also very comfortable to wear - thanks to a fully adjustable, super flexible mesh strap and their lightweight construction.

So, if slim watches are your thing, or if your gift shopping for someone who likes a slim, stylish watch, check out the Skagen range below:

Personally speaking, I don't like a big chunky watch. I find that these tend to catch on both the cuff of my shirt and also my jacket. I find them clumsy - but that's just me of course. If you like big, chunky watches then good for you - each to his own.

If, on the other hand, you like slim watches, then Skagen are well worth a look. There are styles for both men and women and the thickness of the watch casing tends to be somewhere between 6 and 8 mm. That's pretty slim.

Another good point, in my opinion at least, about Skagen watches is the super fine mesh strap. This is incredibly flexible and the clasp can be positioned wherever you like to ensure the perfect fit.

It's actually hard to describe just how sinuous and flexible these straps are. The mesh is so fine that it won't pull or trap the hairs on your wrist - which can be a real bonus for some of us more hirsute guys.

In addition to being fully adjustable over the length of the strap, the clasp is a very secure, double catch type. Your Skagen watch will be both comfortable and secure to wear.

The glass itself is of mineral quartz and is higly scratch resistant. As much as I love my various Skagens, I admit that I wear them in situations where I might take a more expensive watch off. Even so, I have never scratched or cracked the glass on any of my Skagen watches.

Skagen watches tend to come in either stainless steel or titanium. To be honest, it's not a big deal whichever one you choose.

If you're going for a big, chunky watch, that can make a real difference to the weight that you strap on to your wrist. However, since the Skagens are so slim, they tend to be very lightweight anyway - so you can choose between titanium or stainless steel based on which one you like the look of best rather than giving any undue consideration to weight.

Most Skagen watches are water resistant to a depth of 99 feet. However, I recommend that you check your individual choice before you buy if that's an important factor for you.

Over the piece, if you're looking for a slim watch, with an understated style that won't go out of fashion - and at a very reasonable price, you really need to be looking at the Skagen watch collection.

The Skagen watch line appeals to me as an attractive gift.

What needs to be done -- and how often -- to keep the band and the face clean?

These are really classy watches and as you already mentioned, affordable as well. It is also interesting to observe how important became titanium. Stainless steel and similar alloys are becoming more and more popular. They are durable and look even better than silver. The absence of a price tag is another bonus!
