Surprise Her This Valentine’s Day with the Same Gifts Presented Differently

If you’ve exhausted the usual Valentine’s Day gift arsenal of chocolate, roses, and plush animals holding big hearts, there are ways to turn each such gift into more of a surprise.

Chocolate, flowers, love hearts, wine, tea, coffee, and jewelry don’t get tired as gifts go. Women will always enjoy them. But there are ways to make these gifts fresh by approaching the ideas from a different angle. Rather than buying her a ring, which may look too close to an engagement ring, why not get her a jewelry-making starter kit to play with? Similarly, rather than getting her an expensive perfume, which she may or may not like (just because you like it doesn’t mean she’ll wear it), why not let her pick a perfume or some other beauty products on her own?

There are also quirky ways to make chocolate interesting. You can get nicely-wrapped chocolate pieces with wrappers of different colors and present them to her in a unique zipper-bag-shaped glass bowl, for instance.

This can be also the time to give her a gift you both could use -- apart from the chocolate, that is. There are some nice gizmos out there for chilling wine. So if she likes wine, you can surprise her with a bottle of white wine that goes well with chocolates, one that you have chilled that day with your new contraption after presumably drinking some of that wine yourself so that the chiller could fit in.

Who doesn’t love Starbucks coffee? Yes, it’s expensive, yes, there are other coffee houses around with, arguably, equally tasty coffee and a more artsy feel, but would you say no to a Starbucks gift card? I doubt anyone would, except someone who’s got a beef with the idea of corporations ruling the world, as one famous book by David C. Korten puts it. Yes, for some reason I love glass too. I also like clear tea cups!
I remember you mentioned white chocolate in the past, and I may have commented on how I like cheesecake made with white chocolate. You have now inspired me to try some such recipes at home :)

Mira, Your gift ideas are great (except that I way prefer white chocolate ;-]). In particular, the flowering tea set is extraordinary since the choices are welcoming, the packaging is classy (I love mahogany), and teapots in glass always seem to say "I'm giving serving quality products in a quality product since heat does not make me break."
