Healthy Pregnancy Tips

Congratulations on Becoming a New Parent

Pregnant Mom

Live this period to your best: Since it is your first pregnancy, there is nothing better than knowing that there is a living person growing in your body, so enjoy it fully. Do not be embarrassed about your physical changes. If you are having some kind of problem, do not hesitate to discuss it with your family, friends and above all, your doctor. Celebrate the pregnancy.

Take care of nutrition: Eat healthy and eat whenever you want to eat (within reason), you are not eating only for yourself. You are eating for your baby also. Whatever goes into your body goes to the baby too. This does not mean to eat twice as much of everything, just keep it healthy and indulge a little with your cravings. Cravings are a way to tell your body that it is lacking in some mineral or vitamin. I had a strawberry craving. This could have meant that I needed more vitamin C with my food.

Your doctor should prescribe prenatal vitamins. If she or he does not, be sure to ask about it. Buy over the counter prenatal vitamins if you do not get a prescription. Remember that your baby inside you will take all the vitamins and minerals that he or she will need. If your body is not supplying enough, you, your baby or both will be deficient. More likely, you will become deficient, be the fetus will take what she or he needs to grow.

Keep your body fit: you should take care of your body by joining a prenatal yoga class or exercise class if you can. This too varies per pregnancy. If you have sudden cramping or spotting after exercising, stop immediately.

Take the changes lightly: you will go through various physical and mental changes so take it positively and tackle it lightly. Keep your family and friends close so they will help you a lot during this time. Never store your emotion inside, let it out. Scream, cry, laugh, do whatever you feel. This will help you to keep yourself relaxed. Stress adds to complications during pregnancy. Talk to your husband and friends if you need to, let them know your fears and situation. It is your first pregnancy you might have few doubts about the situation so do not hesitate to talk about it. Releasing your stress this way is important to have a healthy pregnancy.

Practice few breathing techniques: when the baby grows in the womb, it will affect some organs, mostly the lungs, bladder and colon. They get added pressure, pushed on and need to shift from the growing womb, and so it would be good if you practice some breathing techniques. Always listen to your body, it will tell you what it needs.

Finally, it is the time when you radiate beauty and pregnant women are attractive. Your body is reflecting your inner joy, so enjoy it fully. Buy new non-restrictive cloths and a few comfortable shoes, go outside and enjoy the time.

Most beautiful period of your life: You are creating a life inside you!

Wish you a happy and healthy pregnancy.

sandyspider, A friend of mine lost 10 pounds when she learned that she was pregnant and made herself snack only on apples and eggs, no matter what she craved!

Good to have the recommendation on the V shaped cushion, Veronica.

My daughter in law has had some pelvic pain and this cushion has been excellent for her. We would recommend a V shaped cushion to anyone who is expecting.

I bought my daughter -in-law a V shaped pillow which has been marvellous for her. She can lean against it, sit astride it or put it under the bump at night. £14.99 .Marvellous .

I got plenty of protein when I was pregnant, but I always craved rare red meat! Hubby was horrified and wanted to cook things almost to death. But I just wanted a nice, juicy steak with lots of pink in the middle!
