Does anyone enjoy sitting on a cold hard toilet seat in the morning? I would think not. So why shouldn’t you be comfortable then? This is why you should buy a padded toilet seat.

Recently my husband and I wanted to upgrade the bathroom a bit. Since we didn’t want to spend too much money right now, we figured adding a padded toilet seat would be a good idea. This is a good way to give the bathroom a new look without spending a fortune.

Padded toilet seats are much improved from the models made just a few years ago. With advances in plastic materials, these soft toilet seats can last much longer than the earlier models. Many of them come with anti bacterial agents in the material. This helps to prevent bacteria and mold from forming on the seat; this will give you a much cleaner and sanitary toilet seat.

Now if you go to a local hardware store or home improvement store, you will usually find a limited selection of toilet seats there. My husband and I recently went to look for a burgundy padded toilet seat. We only saw off white of white padded toilet seats there. We then had to go online to buy a toilet seat there. We found a much larger selection to choose from.

Not only will you find many in different solid colors, you will also find them in several different patterns and designs. I even found a leopard print padded toilet seat. I guess you can use that if you have a jungle theme bathroom.

There are several manufacturers of this type of toilet seat. Who makes the best padded toilet seat? Some of the most popular makers are Ginsey, Bemis, Comfort Seats and Mayfair. Most of these toilet seats can be purchased for under $30 with many priced at less than $20

First you will have to remove your old seat. You will need either a flat head screwdriver or a Phillips head screwdriver. You might also need an adjustable wrench too. Simply unscrew the existing screws to remove the current seat. Be careful when you go to do this. Since your toilet bowl is made of porcelain, you have to make sure you do not scratch it with the screwdriver or wrench. If you are having a difficult time to remove them, spray some WD-40 to help loosen the nut. Place a rag under where you spray so it doesn’t drip onto the floor. When they are loose, remove them, clean the area around the holes and install your brand new soft toilet seat. This should all take you less than 15 minutes to do.

When I have purchased these toilet seats, I have always gone to Amazon to buy them. I usually find the best prices there in addition to being able to get free shipping too.
