Spa Treatments from Home – Face and Body Scrubs
by Angel
You can create many of the same spa treatments at home instead of paying hundreds at the spa.
Why Should You Use Scrubs to Exfoliate?
Exfoliation gets rid of dry skin cells from the surface of your skin. It is a good idea to exfoliate your skin at least once per week. This also helps to unclog pores of dirt that have accumulated. All of this leaves you with softer and more radiant skin.
Go Ahead and Get What You Need
This Will Save Future Trips to the Store
The next time you go out to the grocery store, pick up a few extra items that you may not usually get. You will have them on hand for making your weekly scrubs. Get a combination of the following items and you will be set for creating your own face and body scrubs at home.
- Oatmeal
- Coffee Grounds
- Sugar (brown or white)
- Salt
- Olive Oil
- Coconut Oil
- Lemons
- Oranges
- Honey
- Essential Oils (may have to order online or get at an Aromatherapy Store.
Things like oatmeal, sugar, salt should be mixed with desired amounts of olive oil or coconut oil to create a paste for exfoliation. Add lemons, honey, or oranges to the paste until you have it to your desired consistency. A few drops of essential oils of your choosing will add a wonderful scent to take you away from all the stresses of the day. Check out some of my personal favorites that I use regularly at my home when my face or body needs rejuvenating.
Oatmeal Face Mask
Exfoliating your face leaves you with skin that accepts makeup much better. Scrubbing your lips will get rid of excess dry skin that looks and feels horrible when wearing lipstick or gloss.

Milk (whole milk is best)
5-6 drops of coconut oil (use olive oil if you don't have coconut oil)
Mix all ingredients together slowly adding the milk until desired consistency is achieved.

Pay close attention to your lips as they can get dry during the winter months.
Leave on your face for approximately 10 minutes.

Katie - you are so right. My skin feels so much better and much softer when I exfoliate weekly. Especially during the winter. I love going out and getting a special spa treatment on occasion. But it can be costly with weekly treatments. I use these homemade treatments in between. Good stuff. Thanks for stopping by.
You cannot exfoliate enough, I love your spa tips and ideas working with all natural everyday house hold items, very handy and extra special.
