I am not very up on Japanese ceramics prior to the collecting era of porcelain but I believe it would be pottery.

As much time as the creator deems necessary. The utilitarian bottle takes the time to form and then the waiting time for a kiln full of tokkuri to be formed before firing. An artisan master built tokkuri will take more time to achieve the required form, the artwork, the glazing etc. The firing time depends on atmospheric considerations and is judged by the kiln operator.
