I am so glad to have caused you to hang your head in shame, Jo, as with your wisdom and perspicacity you usually manage to exercise your school marmish influence in the other direction which results in a loss of self-esteem by the recipient of your erudite ways of literary communication, thus limiting the free flow of ideas between us and leaving us to rely on simple feelings to remain bonded. ;-D

I read tarot out of a store run by a Wiccan woman. She does Reiki healing. But I've found her to be a very petty and critical person, also prejudiced, and that troubles me, to the point I stopped reading and frequenting her business. I like the way there is no deity, that nobody stands between you and the Earth telling you what to think. The way she practiced it, it seemed she was just substituting the Goddess for God, and her ways were hurtful to others. I feel better now that she is out of my life, but think I will read some books on Wicca. I have been interested in Buddhism lately too (I am interested in other religions but have never committed to one). I meditate and have psychic visions, so I use that to help guide me and keep me balanced. I like the spirit of Wiccan.

Anyone who loves The Mists of Avalon will adore Glastonbury. You really must visit there some day. :)

I've got the Arthurian Tarot somewhere, but it just didn't click with me. I think it's because I knew the stories too intimately. Bizarrely, it was the Norse Tarot that I really connected with. But I only know those legends vaguely, by osmosis.

I'll check out your Hubpages thing. That does sound like a massive project!

I read The Mists of Avalon about 2 years ago and was completely enchanted. I really identified with Morgaine, although I am not Wiccan, I do have a Pagan Heart. I bought the Arthurian Tarot deck, but so far have not had time to study it. I once wrote a tutorial on how to read the Motherpeace tarot on Hubpages, and promised myself I would never take on a project of that size again, I got so sick of the deck. But I loved so much about Mists, the way the barge crossed the Isle to pick people up, and how only the true believers could see the Isle. I'm so glad you shared your adventure with us! I want to visit someday.

Great advice, thank goodness my children love fruit, it's so healthy for them.

It's not been pleasant. The worst aspect of all was some of the websites that I uncovered while looking for images. Apologists, revisionists and... *shakes head* I'm not going to put into your mind some of the things that I've seen and read today. It's not relevant to the subject and no-one should have to think about it.
