How to Dress Edwardian Style

In no way was I thinking to myself that the fashion in the middle and especially near the end of the Edwardian Era looked a lot like 1920's fashion, before I realized the dates. :| In no way.

"The S-bone corset also pushed against their spines, forcing their lower torsos forward. Meanwhile, their hips were restrained backwards and their breasts up-lifted." ....Hell no.

But actually, they've had a study showing that women who constantly wear high heeled shoes permanently change the shape of their foot, and cause muscle damage to the tendons and muscles in their calves. But uh, changing the shape of your foot is nothing compared to squishing your organs around >.< All in the name of fashion.

Tribal Pages: Organizing Your Family Tree Online

I'm sorry to hear that you've had problems there. I've been on it for over a decade, but never had cause to contact customer support, so I didn't know about that.

I'll see what I can uncover for you.

Confrontation Doesn’t Have to be a Leader’s Nightmare

I was always taught to use the sandwich method when offering criticism - say something positive about the person's work, then bring up the thing you want them to change/improve, and then finish with something else positive. That way they will act on the change you want them to make instead of leaving the meeting seething about being criticised and feeling resistant about doing what you want them to.

Walt Disney: when dreams come true

Walter Elias Disney was the most famous person in Hollywood! He was a wonderful son, husband, father and friend. His opus will live forever because all of his creations are as timely today as in the past. Everyone who actually knew him liked him as a very devoted friend. Walt Disney was loyal to a fault and he believed in God and prayed often for strength and guidance! I knew him well and will forever be grateful for his personal influence on my own life...

Tribal Pages: Organizing Your Family Tree Online

I too am a user of Tribal Pages (since 2009). The site is easy to use but I find it extremely frustrating by the fact that there's no Customer Support at Tribal Pages. Emails have never been replied to and phone calls un-returned. I'm debating whether I should look for a more responsive site.

Scripture Memory Made Simple

That's a fair bit to memorize! I looked it up and couldn't find the seven-long-paragraph version, but the one I did find - by Doreen Valiente - is quite beautiful. :) My long-term goal is to memorize my favorite passages from Isaiah - by far my favorite book of the Bible. Biblical poetry is so beautiful, even without the beauty of the promises in them. :D

Scripture Memory Made Simple

I once managed to memorize the whole Charge of the Goddess (seven long paragraphs and a Blessed be) by copying it out by hand. I then learned it line by line, reading it aloud, repeating it and carrying on until I had it.

I've forgotten most of it again now. -.-

Scripture Memory Made Simple

With these tips, in ten minutes last night, I memorized Philippians 1:9-10 (chosen because I had heard it on the radio earlier that day.) "And this is my prayer: that you may grow in knowledge and in depth of insight so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless til the day of Christ." (Holman Standard Version). Now that's no guarantee I'll remember it a week from now though! While researching this article, I found a free tool called Mnemosyne which helps you remember things long-term. (http://www.mnemosyne-proj.org/) I'm going to try it out over the next week or two and if I like it, I'll add it. :D

I should also do a bit on the different ways of learning -- sounds like your friend is an auditory learner. :) I'll add that suggestion up on the write it down section too.

Tour a Victorian Home at Wightwick Manor

It was your Wizzle on the pre-Raphaelites which reminded me that I hadn't written this one yet! Thanks for the inspiration (and for the link back). <3

I think that you'd adore Wightwick Manor, especially as you love the art.
