You certainly can make your own spindle. It was done that way for a really long time! And I love lumpy, bumpy yarn. I worked so hard for so many years to get a fine, smooth yarn, that it's hard now for me to undo all of that training. If I don't watch it, I'm back to fine and smooth. :)

I do love connecting to the past. I've always been fascinated by the skills early women had and really would hate to see them die out.
Thanks!

This is a good resource on making money on Wizzley. I've been a member for quite a while and have always found the writing experience very pleasant.

Yeah MHeart I have some reservations about HubPages. Thanks for the warning. I only have one article written there at the moment. I'm just starting to get into blogging. But I must say I miss the community feel that comes with a site like this. I've been trying Blogger but I might have a look at Wordpress instead. Thanks

Gosh I've got kindergarten experience too. (Comes in really handy in articles like this.) $20 for Uno is a bit painful. I LOVE Uno myself so it's not just the kindy kids LOL. Oh watch the postage price on Amazon for toys. Some (but luckily not all) of the associated sellers like to charge as much a possible for postage overseas. It's insane. I really appreciate the sellers that don't play that game.

Thanks Jasmine :)
Yes I'm a board game fan myself. We're actually going to start have board game nights again. So I'm going to have to stock up on games for adults. Although I must say I'm very tempted to buy some of the kids games I've included in this, especially Boo-Opoly and The Haunting House.

I like the Flying Frogs best myself. I must say it was the spookiness of Halloween that I loved. I was a tomboy (having two older brothers) and liked all the ghosts, monsters and skeletons etc.... :)

I use to write on hubpages but my subdomain was hit by a Google traffic and I lost most of my traffic. They also started unpublishing hubs and forced people to use their ads program.

If you are a good writer, there is no reason why you shouldn't be posting the articles on your own site to earn 100% of the income instead of a percentage. It's also better to have full control over your articles rather than letting some moderation team that knows nothing about SEO tell you how you should write an article.

Publishing platforms such as Wordpress make it easy to anyone to set up their own site. In fact, the cost of a domain, hosting and a decent theme will probably cost less than $100. This is a tiny investment and you should be able to make it back in no time if you write great articles.

Very good luck with it. And please drop back and let us know when it's available to read. We'll be able to say that we knew the writer before you were famous!

And didn't I enjoy my research haha. I LOVE Halloween.
You're 100% right about the cost. I was especially looking for fun toys that wouldn't run up a high bill for the party planners. Trying to keep both the kids and the adults happy :)

I eat all this stuff, so I am on the right track. As I age it gets harder and harder. I was a toothpick until I turned 30 and that was quite a while ago.. ;)

Hi Brenda, It can be good to focus I think. I'm only writing at Wizzley right at this moment. I like to do do "sessions" that might last a few weeks just at one site. I seem to write faster that way :)

Seen this article on the front page and thought the name sounded familiar. Wow wish I didn't read it now! So creepy!

Great article Katie, I have a question though - how long will you have to wear the cellulite shorts before you see results?

I search for guest post opportunities with Google using search operators. Here's a few:

intitle:”guest post”
inurl:contributor
”Become a Guest Blogger”

You can get creative to find niche specific sites which accept guest posts. These types of links are far more powerful for ranking sites and they also give you targeted traffic as all of the sites are legit.
