I have seen some diabolical stuff but some of these images and videos are simply awful. I couldn't help but stare at the people doing the stoning. I wonder what makes them behave like utter barbarians?

Most certainly I vote a resounding "NO" to stoning.

Well researched??? I should say so. Have you thought about making a documentary about the subject?

Whilst reading this I couldn't help thinking about the stoning scene In Monty Python's Life of Brian. I don't want to try and be humorous here, it is not the place for it; what shocked me, though, was the realization of how accurate it was in a silly way - only men with beards to be present, rules on the size of rocks to be used and a crowd ready to inflict pain and death on someone for the most ridiculous of reasons. It really does show us what an idiotic thing stoning someone to death is.

Any tips for keeping mice out of cars? I can't really block up holes in an auto.

This is simply beautiful.. I do the same thing when I sit in Sunday school and bible study I write what I hear and I turn it into poems.. thank you for sharing a wonderful poem about our Lord

The Death penalty clearly is not a deterrent. The only justification for it is for punishment and revenge, then the debate becomes whether it is a fitting punishment (as you have mentioned a lifetime in prison is probably worse - I have visited prisons in Kathmandu and Bangkok and would certainly opt for death over life in those places) or if revenge is a justifiable reason for taking a life.

Like many others here I have never really been able to decide exactly how I feel about the death penalty, but I do often find myself coming back to the revenge argument. If I support the death penalty at all it is for revenge.

I read recently about a case in Iran where the judges gave the death penalty as an option but the final say was the victim's, or in the case of murder (this example was not) the family of the victim. In many ways if the death sentence is for revenge only then the victim's family making the decision makes sense.

A great, thought-provoking article.

I've already planted and harvested fresh greens from my small raised bed kitchen garden this spring 2012.

thank you maria

Oh how beautiful I love stained glass and to think I could have my very own stained glass window at home. Love this option!

What a delightful web page dedicated to storytelling. I'm a big story teller. I feel passing along the process of creative and expressive thought is a vital message of bonding communication to share. I'm a lover of theater, writing plays, so working with our youth and story telling by way of teaching theatrics is a fun aspect of my world. Love this first introduction to you our newest member. Great to have you and welcome do stay in touch.

cclitgirl, Great to learn of a new art lover. Edvard would be amazed beyond belief to learn of the insane success of his beloved The Scream.

cclitgirl, Great to meet you, looking forward to getting to know you better.

DavidPaulWagner, It is interesting you mention that. I myself am allergic to many chemical laden scents. The result is an instant headache developing into a bad migraine if not removed from the offending area and or person, sneezing, congestion and on. Oh what a great contribution to this conversation about the offenses of perfume. Thanks for commenting.

I have always liked this painting. I can't believe it sold for so much! If only Edvard was alive to see it now! He would be in awe. :) Great article.
