humagaia, WOW you and I have so much in common, I completely agree with everything you've said. I'm so glad we connected, it's great to be in your circle. The birthday thing was the worst thing for me as well, you're the first person to get that, everybody is kind don't get me wrong, but they just say oh she got a great birthday present, you. I feel about it the way you do, you get it, I get you. I understand about being house bound. Wow, I don't know how I got here but read you poem and story. I divorced many years ago and did take back my maiden name. My girl's had his name or course. I found that it really doesn't natter for girl's because they will take on their husband's name, A sir name only ties you to the past, not your children. I remarried and took his name, My girls are grown now and it's all in the past, When their father and I divorced they were 13 and 15. You will always have your maiden name weather on paper or not, It is who you are,

Even though it's a sad poem, it's a very lovely one. I am in the stage of contemplating divorce, and feel confused. Even now as I think about taking back my own name, our only child is an adult, and I'm unsure how he would feel. I'm unsure about how I feel, sometimes I'm angry we can't talk things out, and feel that many of the issues were caused by him. But we had many good times and good years, and I hate to throw that away too. Thanks for the poem.

These are just awesome! I have to get some. We use duct tape a lot and it is boring and grey.... not anymore.. I will get some zebra striped tape. LOL.. Love your descriptive story about visiting the store and the manager hiding... they do that to me at Lowes. Took me three trips to get the right bolt that Mr. Pearson needed...

Katie, I know what it's like to miss a loved ones birthday. I went into a diabetic coma just before my daughters birthday, and it was that which irked me more than anything. I am housebound now and write for therapy and to keep my mind from atrophy. I too had a similar but not as extreme an experience at Hubpages - there I said it. I just did nothing (or very little) to change my hubs. I let them be unpublished and took them elsewhere. It was a great wake-up call and it prompted me to publish my own websites instead of being told by idiots what to do. I have left the remainder of my hubs live.
I concur with your views about Wizzley - the feature I like most is that the right hand column follows you down the screen. It is always in the hot spot for conversions that way.

I just wish that those writers that arrived 8 months ago would start to generate more articles - the more the merrier. Making Wizzley a competitor to HP and Squidoo would do us all the world of good!

I have to admit that I teared up when reading about the accident. I knew you had been in one but did not know the details. As far as hubpages... I write their occasionally but have seen the exact same things you mention. It is not where I plan to make much money this year for sure.
