Attention Squidoo Giants

Keep spreading the word.  I have run into many older Giants who were not aware of this change.

Yes, I think many people might be unaware, although existing Giants, I think, got a seperate email.  The ones going for Giant now though wouldn't have gotten word unless they were on the forum or at the official site. 

Yes I very nearly deleted the email because I assumed it had come to one of my non-Giant accounts but seemingly having achieved a status we must now apply again rather than the ongoing review which was meant to happen - oh well - done and shall see what happens.

I have been amazed/shocked at the number of Giants who either did not get the email or did not read it, so yall keep telling folks.........

Like Paul, I just think it is what it is, and we can wait and see....and hope that these changes improve quality at Squidoo, as they are intended to do.

I got my email and filled out the form. Thanks for sharing though. I hate it when something falls through the cracks. I would be sick to lose my Giant status.

Oh thank you so much. I would have totally missed that email, just like I didn't look at the blogpost because the title didn't make it clear there were important changes afoot. 

Tweeted about this with a link to the official blogpost. I do wonder if I qualify? Have I put a foot in my mouth too often for their new guidelines?

I asked on the blogpost about the term "axes to grind" which is their new requirement .  Robin stated social drama doesn't count, only people that want to tear down Squidoo. Wonder who they had in mind when they came up with that one, but I surely don't think it would be you :)

Well, thanks. But it really is a fine line between social drama and tearing down Squidoo. I mean I have been criticising the new policies a lot lately. 

On the other hand they're probably business people enough to not want to alienate one of their top earners. 

indeed!  I don't think they want to get rid of anybody who is doing work like all of you!   and it's probably a good idea ...........i was just kinda taken aback by it all.  but now have done my application and waiting to see what happens.  Hopefully some of my lensranks will magically return.  lol  

My guess is that they were talking about someone who not so long ago was banned from SquidU, and that ban caused quite a fuss (me included).

I worked very hard to achieve giant squid status, actually achieving the status in one month, the first month I joined. Re-apply? No. I'm going to concentrate on writing here.

Got my notice today...I'm still a Giant and Giant 100. Hope everyone else got good news.

I get an e-mail today, I have the sane status as previous...  so it is OK with me, I even gain 2 more monsters...  They treat us like kingergarden, but this it is and I doubt it will change...

LOL.  Yep, never got my shirt either.  I am a Colossal Squid now.  Too bad that doesn't come with Colossal money.  :P

I got my mail...and am still a Giant 100.  Problem for me is so is someone I keep reporting for copyright and plagurism violations ( several people reported this person too).  I really wish they would have looked at the Reports we send in before re-awarding the Badge.

I didn't say anything on SU as didn't want to burst anyones bubble....but it really was a let down, plus one guy had 3 lenses and one 96 and they got Giant 100 too :)  I don't even mind the guy with 3 lenses and a default Bio as much as I minded seeing that other one get reupped!

CWAHM, Colossal Squid is 250.  I got that one too.  I am relieved that is done for a while.  now I can focus on wizzley.  :)

Like you my main focus is now on Wizzley - although my niche Halloween Account at Spooky Times is going to need a brush up - having said which I am already seeing quite a few sales from it

Funny thing is that I actually have 327 lenses, but they don't have an award for 300.
