Call to Action for Food(ie) Designers

Hello all, Correen here. Wink

The re-opening of Food Lovers Web (coming soon - it's been a long, beautiful journey) includes a Creatives Shop, with an open invite to designer's.

The focus is food/cooking topics (i.e. canning labels, recipe cards, infographics, etc.) and each design submitted will have a brief description, as well as a link to your online store (i.e. Zazzle) or design website. The designs you submit to the store are free to download with a social share...here is a screenshot of the current layout

This is what I have made for the store, so far...

- I've created a couple of canning labels that  link to my about page

- Made a recipe card that is black and white (the free to download design) with the link pointing to the "colorized and enhanced" version in my Zazzle store. <---I really got into this idea Smiley

This opportunity is a win<--->win...FLW Creatives Shop gets filled up with loverly designs, you get added exposure to the creative work you are offering up in a store or on a website.

What I've said above makes perfect sense to me...no worries if it doesn't make perfect sense to you. Please ask your questions and offer up feedback right here.

This is an interesting idea.

I tend to think that visitors to your site (Food Lovers Web is your site?) would opt for the free downloads and not bother to pay for color labels, cards, etc., but I could be wrong.

On the positive end, the link back to a Zazzle store or site could mean they would see something else they might need to have :)

The free download image can't be of the Zazzle product, but of the design, right?  If this means I would be offering a full size design image to someone for free, that does not sound like a good idea.

Those are my thoughts.

@dustytoes, thanks for your thoughts. This is a newer concept for me as I'm revamping Food Lovers Web, although not to the internet...I see free creative graphic offerings all the time.

We can't be certain that people will click over to "see more" or "the color" version...ahh the mysteries of people and the internet.

The free download version can be a simple to more complex offering...it's up to the designer. It's definitely not a Zazzle product from your store.

For instance, in my example links above, the freebie is a simple design on a 3x5 card in black and white, I'm optimistic that if a person liked the freebie, chances are they will click over to see the colorized and enhanced version to purchase for themselves or as a gift. Smiley

Hedging a bet it will all make better sense once the site goes live and you can see the idea in action. :)
