With Hubpages announcing that from January we can't earn through our Amazon affiliate link (they're going to start serving the adverts through the HP ad program), I doubt I'll be seeing a cheque from Amazon more than once a year! I think the change is stupid, especially after they promised they wouldn't do anything like that.
So I guess I'll need to start writing a LOT more sales hubs here at Wizzley. And start getting some serious Amazon sales going!

Wry never fear. I wrote a non-optimized spur of the moment Amazon Wizzle today - and I've already gotten SIX google hits. Wizzley is everything that HP used to be and lots better! And now we're hanging with Achim and he's got more style and wizzle than anyone. I spent 4 years on HP and I was too afraid of the forums to post even once. And now look at me!
And hey shouldn't you be practicing your breathing or something? Any signs of the impending appearance?

Yep, I absolutely adore Wizzley - yes, I should be working on my own websites but I find that writing a single sales page on a revenue sharing site gets me way more Amazon sales that doing a whole website devoted to one keyword (plus it doesn't cost!) I haven't done more than two sales pages in the last six months so I think I might do a thirty day challenge of sales pages or something (did that on HP last year and it gave me awesome Amazon sales before Panda!)
And breathing? LoL yeah I skipped all my antenatal classes with my first, my birth plan is basically "no one touch me or talk to me". Tehehe. My EDD is a week from today but just like the first I think this one will go overdue, so I'll make the most of the time writing!

Wry, it would be wonderful if you could coordinate a wizzley writing challenge for us! I could use the motivation and some mentoring. I am not strong at sales hubs. The teacher in me veers toward informational content, but that is not hugely profitable.

I'm all for it, Jimmie and Susannah.
Perhaps a tutorial article: "How to Make Millions or Less on Wizzley".
And then a special forum thread on the topic.
I'm serious. (Although I always have to interject a bit of sillyness to everthang.)

This from the Queen of the Candy Cane Ornament sales? But I agree it would be fun.

Maybe we need a forum for challenges, member guides etc? Or should we use the keyword research forum for that?
Not sure if I'm allowed to link a hub here (but it's just a guide one, anyway.)
Jimmie, I wrote it awhile back as a basic guide to writing a sales hub: http://wrylilt.hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Write-an-Amazon-Sales-Hub-and-Sell-Amazon-Items

I'm sure you can re-write it a bit for Wizzley, Susannah.
Replace capsules with modules and hub with wizzles, and you have a good start on a unique piece of content.
No, seriously - wanna do this for us? As a Christmas present to all of us?

I might just do that... there are other things I've learnt since then I can probably add in too... that was written nearly a year ago.

Great, Susannah. Let's see how it all develops before we set up a special forum section for it. For right now I'd recommend a thread under "Tips & Tricks".

Can I just throw in my half a crown?
1. Think like a buyer when creating your pages - what is the buyer thinking when they go searching? 2. Keep your pages focused - think mirco niches - see my Wizzley Page here: http://wizzley.com/micro-niches/ and various others around the whole topic including one on how to find micro niches which might just get you thinking

Both good points, pkmcr. Also, another trick (which I learned from someone who made a LOT of money from sales pages before most of her content was banned by HP grrrrr...) is to keep on the lookout for new products and get in early.

How do you find new products on Amazon?

^^ Just pick a category, then click on the "best-sellers" link at the top, which brings up a page with six tabs - best sellers, top rated, hot new releases, movers and shakers, gift ideas and most wished for.
It's worth browsing them all for ideas.

Yep, that's one good way.
However there are LOTS of ways to find new products.
For instance:
- Adverts on your TV (this time of year is good coz lots of brands are trying to get their new product out there in the lead up to xmas)
- Blog reviews (newly released products often send out free samples to select well known bloggers in exchange for a review.)
- Conventions and events (for instance there are lots of "toy conventions" where companies release new toys or let people see upcoming products). Many of these events have websites too, where they'll put up a short review or more info, that you won't find elsewhere.

Thank you, ladies. This is the kind of detailed info we need for a thread like this. Wonderful!

Writing a wizz about selling for Amazon is third on my list. First I have to edit some images for someone, then proofread some competition entries then I'm all up to write a Wizz!~
