Article Writing is a great way to build backlinks to your content here on Wizzley and elsewhere. You need to use sites that have strict terms and conditions, a limit to outgoing links and strong moderation to ensure that junk and spam does not creep in.
And do you know what? I know just the site
Bev, Paula and I set up an Article Directory a few months back and although the Page Rank is nothing to write home about, if we can get lots of people posting lots of quality articles, then the page rank will improve as will the quality of the backlinks on there.
We already have people posting on there but would like to let our Wizzley friends know about it so they can use it to link to their content. Regular posters will be considered for "trusted status" that does not need manula moderation, once we really get going.
If you want to know more, I have a page about it on Wizzley (of course) so I hope no one minds this shameless self promotion - but we genuinely believe the site will build and be a useful, quality resource for everyone on here:

I tried but it won't take the captcha. Tried 3 times. Not working.

That is odd...CHalloran about the captcha...it is working for others. I got 3 new members today. Well, actually 2 real members and one spammer who tried to get in but I wouldn't let him.
Have you tried clearing your cache? Sometimes little fitzwidgets get caught up in there and until we clear them out...they play havoc with our nerves.

Yes Bev I cleaned my chache but it still hasn't worked. Weird indeed. I keeps saying invalid letters and registration stopped by sabre

I am heading over to have a look at the Sabre settings. They have not been changed recently, so this is rather puzzling. Stand by......

AJ and I took a look at the "backend" of the site to see if we could figure out if there was something that wasn't working properly.
We use Sabre as a help with blocking out "spammers" and it works really well for that. We actually get a message that tells us on some that "Speedy Gonzales was here and didn't have a valid address". That gets a chuckle out of me every time I see it!
It will also block if someone chooses not to accept our policy for membership and gives us that message too.
The Captcha is sometimes hard to read, I know. And if there is a space between the sections it is important to type that space too and not run it all together. Sabre does leave us a message telling us that a new membership was blocked due to "Invalid letter typed". That could be a lower case instead of an upper case, no space, or simply a typo. Unfortunately, that is the message I am seeing on your attempts.

Yes that's the message I get every time I try.
update: OK I got it this time. I can't believe I did not notice the math question in the middle before. A big DUUUUHHHH!
I can't believe I kept messing that part every time. Sorry for the trouble guys. It was totally my dumbness. :-)

Admittedly, our registration is different than a lot of places and it would be very easy to miss that math question...so don't blame yourself!!!!
We might be a little different but we can also feel pretty confident that we are "spammer" free too.
Thanks for hanging in there with us! Not only has your membership been approved but I also gave you "contributor" rights so now you can start to write your articles.

And Bev has recently got some traffic on Wizzley from an article she wrote on Pro-Articles, so the more articles we post, then the more this is likely to happen.

I've joined. I just had a successful weekend networking with people in the paranormal field, and found that I'm becoming fairly well known, so I'm looking forward to seeing how that translates into the writing, here, and on your website, on Open Salon, and some other places. Thank you for this resource, AJ!
