Just Made my First Grand From Wizzley

You all realize that the grand was soooo last week.  I've made $43 on Wizzley alone since posting the original 8 days ago.  I have no idea what's happening, but it's most certainly happening.

Best of all, my top selling article is on a subject that expert voices at the time said would never make money.  I was passionate about the topic though and went for it.  Most of that $43 has come from it.  I would like to tell you what it is, but that would be silly. :p

Top advice I can give you is this:  write about what moves your soul to absolute passion and wonder, and forget about what's supposed to make money. Those markets are swamped. If it's fascinating you, then it'll fascinate others too. I would NEVER have picked my top money-making article. It was fascination not business prowess.

Second biggest category is weddings in general.  Pam's been telling us this for years. Anne tried to tell us last year too.  Pam and Anne are wise.  (And to think that I only wrote those initial Pagan handfasting articles to help Anne out, and because I was the only Pagan here...)

Also, if anyone knows anything about cosmetics and wants some traffic, message me. I have a possible article for you. I would recommend speed on it though, as it'll receive a boost a week on Sunday. <3

Finally, I had an article go semi-viral on Facebook yesterday! *happy dance* It was my latest Richey Edwards one. It got picked up by the mod. of a huge Manics group there. First I knew about it was when a friend randomly saw it there and messaged me. Checked my stats and I'd had 655 people turn up to read it!  Again, that was one written for the love of it, rather than the marketing.

I find my ones about writing and blogging have been doing the best for me. Weddings are popular, but not as popular as the blogging ones. A few history ones have surprised me. I keep trialling different things depending on my interests and passions--and also anything that has recently happened or happened on the day in history.

I'm champing at the bit to get back here and writing again. Back to 30 hours a week contracts as of next month, given that the work deadline will have passed, so I will have time to finally write the contents of my brain onto the screen.

And I can test Jo's thoughts on my Chitika settings too. Not quite sure what's happening there - haven't looked since driving myself almost to tears trying to set it up properly last weekend. (My emotional state at the moment is compounded by lack of time to write here, work hours being on the wtfigo side of stupid, too little sleep, too much alcohol and a crap bus service!)

I'm looking forward to testing some of the theories postulated here, and also to picking Jo's brains in person in August, by which time I will be fully rested, rather fitter than I am at the moment (the reduced work hours do mean that I will have time for walking) and in a much better space than I currently am.

I'm really hoping to follow you up the ladder to Wizzley success, Jo, as the other place many of us were at had just started to pay me decently when the Panda side swiped my content, and so I have had to start all over again, like many people.

My most popular article in the other place was one I disliked writing intensely, but wrote as a keyword challenge. Here, my computing articles are dominant, because all my retrotech friends are retweeting and FBing them like crazy.

Once again, congratulations, Jo!

Described by one of my clients as 'a literary grammarian', writing, researching and reading are requirements for sanity, at least this side of the keyboard.

Paula, I had trouble with Chitika as well. But it was because I stupidly entered my username in the Chitika channel box, on my settings page, instead of where it was supposed to be. Once I corrected this mistake, I began seeing data and impressions, and, finally clicks.

I thought you'd all like to know that by the end of the month, the final tally was $1075.53 all told.  So yes, Wizzley is most definitely quickening its pace!

Thank you for sharing your success. It made me check my adsense numbers. I have made $438.30 from adsense alone since I've been writing here. The great part is that that has been truly passive income. I'm not here refining and pampering my Wizzles every 5 minutes.

That puts things into perspective.  I have three times as many articles as you have here, but my Chitika earnings are less than a quarter of your Adsense ones.   I've made $93.52 on that so far.

I know I've sold lots of eBay stuff and other things. I'm trying to figure out how to generate the report on Viglnk. I'll share this amount as well, if I can work it out.

Jo I just went through my PayPal Statements from 12/1/2011 to now I have earned 267.34 from Viglink. Since I only use Viglink here, that's my Wizzley stuff earnings. I can't break it down between eBay and Amazon. I think it's an even split.

I may have more Amazon earnings from here, that aren't included. For a time I used an independent account and not through Viglink.

$705.64 not bad passive income on about 200 Wizzles. I've decided to spend more time here after this exercise!
