https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/gp/associates/help/operating/exclusions

The page linked to sets out some changes on products that excluded from the program.

Here is the first part so you can see if it might be relevant to you (not sure what you might advertise elsewhere so have not included the list of products).

"This Associates Program Excluded Products page is part of the Operating Agreement that governs your participation in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program."

Keep calm and carry on writing, as I am not sure it will alter anything for anyone. I just thought it might be best to draw your attention to it in case you advertise things on the list on your own blogs and sites..

It is probably any product that isn't shipped by Amazon. Pay attention to that when you are writing.

"It is probably any product that isn't shipped by Amazon. Pay attention to that when you are writing."

That might be what it means at first look I thought it was more complicated than that. I guess I need to read it again to get to what it means.

This is the first part -    "The following are Excluded Products:

  • any product or service sold on a site linked to from the Amazon Site (e.g., a product or service listed through our “Product Ads” program or sold on a site linked to from a banner ad, sponsored link, or other link displayed on the Amazon Site);
  • any wireless service plan offered through the Amazon Site and not sold or fulfilled by us;
  • any product, including games and other applications, sold through the Amazon Appstore for Android;
  • any product sold on fresh.amazon.com;
  • any product or service sold on local.amazon.com;
  • any digital Kindle product purchased as a subscription (e.g., Kindle newspaper subscriptions, magazine subscriptions, blog subscriptions, etc.); or
  • any of the products identified by Amazon Standard Identification Number (“ASIN”) in the following list (from and after the date listed); provided that any additions to this list will be published on this page at least 7 days before the beginning of the month in which they are first excluded (and such publication will be your sole notice of such modification):"

The first one is the one that I am most puzzled by, not even sure this applies to us on our Wizzley articles.

That looks to me like it means products that place ads on the Amazon page. Maybe....

Photobucket

The first item means products such as the one shown above. Merchants can list their products on Amazon, but in order to buy it, someone needs to go to the merchant's website. The checkout process is not taking place on Amazon.com. If you would link to such a page and someone buys the product, you would not get a commission for that particular sale.

If third party sellers list their items on Amazon.com, and the transaction takes place on Amazon.com, then it is commissionable. Regardless of who is the official seller.

Hope this helps to clarify.

The products which nighowl refers to are usually identified on the search function as:

"Available from external website".
