I'm going through all of my old Hubpages finding things to salvage, it's really depressing to see some great content which has been stolen by cheats.

It seems that the more successful the content the more likely it is to be stolen (law of averages I guess). Often the better the content the more successful it becomes.

It truly sucks to know that by removing my content one of the cheats is likely to now gain financially from my words (which I now cannot reuse, as it will make me look like the copier in the eyes of Google).

All is not lost however, as every single article which I have to give up on is going to have a unique YouTube video made for it, using the exact same title, and I'll keep some of my hits that way.

Copiers are lazy talentless morons. There, I've said it.

I'm so sorry to hear that, Ryank. It happens all the time unfortunately. I'm glad you've already thought of a plan for moving forward with this so I hope that works well for you.

Copiers are the reason why I have to put horrid watermarks on all my best photos otherwise I know too well what will happen -sigh!

Rise above and don't let it stop you creating - otherwise the cheats have won.

Ryan, is there no way you can utilize the content in some more digital books.

You are known and have a following - why not consolidate some into 'the best of the best from (whoever you want to be)' - and e-mail your followers to get the ball rolling.

Maybe not the 'best' idea for a title (or for content), but surely you can use the vids to point to books to point to content re-raised here on Wizzley.

Following on from Chaz's idea above Ryan. Is there a way of extending your works for those articles and turning them into e-books?

Kindle are cracking down with books which contain information already published on the web, banning accounts for it.

I'm just going to write off the content but steal the titles for YouTube vids.

YouTube has opened up the partner scheme for all, so I can make adsense on there. If or when some videos start getting lots of traffic I will find an appropriate way to direct that somewhere... whether that is straight to amazon through an aff link or to an article somewhere.

It's just the time and effort expended, some probably took numerous hours of research and writing, and now some morons will make some sheckles from it... makes me angry!

You have my sympathy Ryan. I don't know how these people can live with themselves.

I've got people copying my articles, not word for word, but manual spinning and featuring the same products. You can tell they don't actually know anything about the subjects because the resulting articles are dreadful, I feel sorry for people who land on these pages.

It really grates when you've put lots of research and personal knowledge into the articles.

I've got no problem with other people writing good original stuff on the same topics of course.

I had the same problem a few months back with old Bright Hub articles I wanted to place elsewhere and kept getting a 'duplicate content' flag so couldn't use it. So annoying when you've put in so much work.

Not only does it mean you can't make money from it anymore, it means the lazy arse writers ARE making money from it.

I tried sending cease and desist notices to as many as I could but only about 2/3rds responded and took it down - often it was 'guest bloggers,' so the actual website owner had no clue. However unless everyone takes it down you are still stuffed. I decided in the end it was a waste of my time that could be better utilized elsewhere but it still gets my goat!

I set up a cheap and cheerful blog to place some of them - is that an option?

Hi Ryan,

This once happened to me.  I did this:

Fighting Back:  How to Report Online Plagiarism

Just this past couple of weeks, the individual named has been on Twitter begging me to remove his name from that article.  He's apologised profusely and every one of my articles got taken down.

But he's doing the same thing to other writers.

yours

Jo
