Chatter away, friends!

Turned down by Cafepress.

Been waiting to hear about some applications through Viglink. Just learned through Viglink that I was turned down by Cafepress. No reasons of course. Hello???? Does that sound like some other Hub you know? I had an account there some time ago and no problems. So what don't they like? Actually, as I write this it dawns on me that I'm getting to old to crawl so will consider my options.

You can find Cafe Press items on Amazon.

Affiliate programs have all sorts of requirements. Sometimes they require that you have your own site. Others like to see a minimum amount of traffic. You can check out their affiliate program and see if they have a dedicated affiliate manager. You can email them and ask why they rejected you. Often they will reconsider and approve you.

I have many affiliate sites and work with hundreds of merchants. It's not uncommon to have to do this. Most affiliate programs don't auto-approve affiliates anymore because of the number of spammers and unethical affiliates.

Much f what is on CafePress is either duplicated or similar to what is on Zazzle.  Perhaps you could go to Zazzle, and either get an affiliate code for yourself or go through Viglink.  Bypassing Viglink is not a good idea unless you sell a lot, or have products up, since they pay at $50.  A few affiliate products takes time to get that much.

As for Amazon:  That depends on the seller.  None of my products are on Amazon.  Placing them there is expensive.

That's a great point about the $50 payout. However, most of the affiliate networks now group their merchants and have consolidated payouts. Zazzle is on Shareasale and I have many other Shareasale merchants so I get paid every month when all of the payments are grouped.

Cafepress is on CJ as well as Shareasale, so you could try either. Though if they're consistent they will also no approve you there either. Unfortunately. it depends on whether it's the same person handling it, I suspect. Though it could also be a policy thing.
