Google have updated it's PR toolbar and Wizzley has a PR of 3. Isn't it great, I think it is phenomenal in such a small time. Also, two of my pages have a PR of 1. And I have not created a single backlink for them
So everyone check your pages and share the good news....

I just checked, my wizzley profile has a PR of 1. And Chefkeem, I guess you have the highest profile PR of 2. Anyone with a PR3?

I'm sure I can find this somewhere, but I'm going to be lazy and ask:-)
How many months has Wizzley been around? I joined about a month ago and just started making pages this week.

We're just about 10 weeks old, Claudia.
It's amazing how far we have come in such a short time.
I suspect it has a lot to do with our fantastic authors.

Natasha, how do you check for PR?
I have installed Alexa toolbar for chrome and it gives me updated info on PR and site global rank. I installed this plugin from here.
You can also check the PR of any page by pasting it's url on the site.

Basically yes, by creating external backlinks to a certain page, one can increase it's PageRank. However, Google is not stupid: When the PR system was introduced, online marketers started "buying" backlink, which resulted in an unusual link pattern. Google tries to recognize such link patterns and will penalize such webpages with a lower PR. So, be a bit careful: Backlinks should in the ideal case be relevant by topic to the target page. Also, it's no good to set a lot of "cheap" backlinks. At least some of the "source pages" need to have a high PageRank themselves.
Cheers,

Yes, you should be actively backlinking if you want high PR, but I think one should not pay so much attention to PR. I think On-Page optimization for a particular keyword is more important than page PR. For example, all my wizzley page are on page for their keywords and I have not backlinked any of the page. I guess my page benefits from the wizzley domain authority.
Also, at wizzley you should not worry much about PR as it will automatically increase with time as we get the link juice from other wizzley pages and domain. We just have to keep publishing articles.
And yea, +1 to Simon's advice

ALL your articles are indexed by Google, Barbara. Even your latest one on fasting.
Just type your titles into Google search, and there they are - all on the first page.
