Amazon account closed

I've been inactive online for the last 6 months, but checking round today I find my amazon.com account has been closed, presumably for lack of activity ( I think I've accidentally deleted the email from them).

Am I right in thinking I can change my settings so that earnings from amazon.com on Wizzley  through Viglink? If so, how do I do this?

Thanks for any help anyone can offer

(I'm in the UK and my amazon.co.uk account still earns a little regular income)

If you delete your Amazon ID from the settings (in your Wizzley account), your Amazon links should be automatically affiliated by Viglink. Provided you have set up a Viglink account through Wizzley, of course.

To be sure please also check the Merchants tab in your Viglink account, and check if you are "greenlighted" for Amazon.

Amazon has closed my account citing lack of buyers (or the equivalent) and suggesting that maybe my content didn't relate to my post.  It always did.  I only advertised books or DVDs that related exactly to my subject.  So, any suggestions as to how I can improve if I try again with them?  It may be, of course, that my subjects are not interesting, but I have a feeling it's something else.    Any ideas?

Thanks for that advice nightowl.

I've got Viglink on Wizzley, but going over to Viglink I find I've not got a green light for amazon.com so have applied for approval.

Waiting to see what happens- hopefully that should work

I also just noticed that they closed my account - no email telling me so. This is very upsetting. I don't make much there, but I was hoping to do more on my new personal website. Are they shutting accounts that don't make enough money?

I emailed them via the associates pages and got the reply that my account had been closed because I didn't fill in this form- see below-

Your Associates account was closed on November 1, 2015 as previously outlined both online and in email communications. This closure-action occurred because the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) declaration was not completed. The declaration is mandatory for participation in the Amazon Associates Program

I can't find any record of that message, but they said I could re apply, get a new ID, and all should be OK.

I've done that and hope that the small amount I earn will get credited to me!

Maybe others have run into this without realising- Sheri?

Thanks all for your help.

Whitemoss - I received an email from Amazon a few months ago about the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) declaration.  Fortunately I saw the email and went into my account and clicked on the button to say I was complying.  I'm sure once you do that, you'll be reinstated.

I engaged in some email exchanges with Amazon and was told that I hadn't replied to the email they sent about complying with COPA. I don't remember getting that email. Doesn't mean that I did not get it, more likely means that I did not understand its importance and did not open it. I told them that if they send stuff that, if ignored, can get our accounts closed, they should make that clear in the subject line of the email. They replied that that message will get passed on to "the powers that be".

So I will have to reapply to get reinstated as an associate. Darn!

I agree Sheri, that the e-mail should be marked as important.  Where are you seeing that "comply" with COPA button?  I am not finding it at Amazon.

I received an email on 7/13/15 - Subject line:  IMPORTANT ACTION REQUIRED - CHILD DIRECTED POLICY.

This is the email:  (p.s. Account Settings is upper right)

Thank you for being part of the Amazon Associates program. We’re reaching out to remind you that sites targeted at children under 13 are not eligible to display links and advertising from the Amazon Associates program. To continue your participation in the Amazon Associates program, you need to declare that none of your sites are directed at children under 13.

To complete the declaration:
1. Sign in to your Associates Central account at: https://affiliate-program.amazon.com
2. Click on “Account Settings”, then click on “Edit your website list”
3. Ensure 'Your website list’ is accurate – by adding new websites or removing existing ones from the list.
4. Click on “Next” and complete the declaration process.
