Broken links reported that aren't broken

I regularly get an email from Wizzley reporting broken links, when in fact the links (to blogs of my own) aren't broken. Today It's even impossible to save a text-module, even after I have told the system that the links are in fact valid.

I was working on this one: http://wizzley.com/cute-day-planners/

Since a lot of my content is moving around right now (from zujava to blogs, from squidoo to hubpages) , a working link checker that doesn't stop me from correcting links would be nice.

Aha, a frequently reported problem (FRP). There's a bug in the software.

Chef and his crew have tried to evict the little rascal using bait and tweezers, but so far it has eluded capture.

The collective wisdom of Wizzlers is just to click that you've fixed the issue and have a glass of wine.

I've finally started doing the first part rather than to stress too much about it ("just click that you've fixed the issue") but forgot about the second part ("have a glass of wine").  That second part fixes most things Laughing

It's those pesky cyber ferrets again, I'm afraid. Chef and Simon thought they'd corralled the little blighters but they were chewing busily at my links this weekend too.

However, solidly maintaining that you fixed them in published articles seems to work. For drafts I just save the modules without the hyperlink and check before I publish that I've made them all live. That seems to keep them happy.

Apologies in the name of our talented tech team from Germany. They're pretty depressed about it. Simon even tried speed-dating Sigmund Freud's great-great-granddaughter (mainly because of his depression), but it didn't work. Turns out she's quite the nut case herself.

Also, PETA Germany sent us a cheese-and-resist letter with regard to those cyber ferrets:

"If you so much as breathe on one of them ferrets, we'll keel you!"

But we won't give up.

I've found that a pint of cider or mead also works well.  As does a wee dram of whisky, particularly one from an Islay distillery.

But wine certainly does the job.

Someone told me that Freud developed most of his theories while on hard drugs.  Which amused me greatly.  Has Simon tried that?

I get that - but it means I can't edit the module in question. So I just leave the broken links up?

Ought to get you trying the Bowmore one day! I adore that stuff. *Whistles* expensive, but peaty to the core.

Wine does the job almost every night of the week. Saturday nights can be gin and tonic for a change, and there's always the Grant's blended scotch or the liquid licorice Salmiakki for times when wine needs a nightcap.

Can't deal with cider since I took a decision to try and demolish 2 litres of Merrydown on my own during my student years, and I've never drunk mead, to my knowledge, at least.

After that alcoholic interlude, we return you to the troubles caused by cyber ferrets.
