Discrepancy in AdSense Impressions?

I'm not entirely sure what the ad split is here, is it 50/50 or 60/40?

Either way, my Wizzley stats show 66 impressions for 7 days.

My AdSense channel stats on the other hand show 17 impressions.

I know it's a small sample, and I'll judge it properly when I can achieve 500 a week.... and with analytics installed...... but that suggests that I'm taken 25% of the impressions?!

Can somebody, or more than one person, with a larger portfolio put my mind at rest a little?

This site doesn't have some sort of silly Squidoo-like model where only a certain % of pages get any thing from AdSense right?

Hi Ryan -

as a new member you'll start out with a 50/50 share (as stated in our help pages). After 50 approved quality articles you'll get 55%, and after 100 articles 60%.

Scroll down HERE and read Simon's explanation of the possible reasons for a discrepancy between your internal stats and AdSense/Analytics stats.

Mainly this part:

"To explain a bit more in detail the difference in views in your case: Wizzley is not able to filter as many bots as Analytics. Secondly and just as important, AdSense tends to show dramatically lower numbers than Analytics in general. Usage of ad blockers is supposed to be the main cause of that, but I think there are other factors involved, that I don't know of."

Silly me, I even have a 2000 word article floating around about the effect of adblock on webmasters, lol.

The good news is that standard text and image ads are permitted by default on the latest version of AdBlock, so as people slowly upgrade we should see that sitiuation improve.

25% does seem particularly low though, but I acknowledge that my sample is very small.

Thanks.

One additional item to consider:

Analytics also show the impressions for your author profile page, as well as any articles that may have been viewed in "page view" before they got published.

However, we don't show Adsense on these pages, which results in another discrepancy between your Analytics impressions and Adsense views.

The '66' was taken from my Wizzley stats page, not analytics.
