I'm filling out my profile and have gotten to Facebook.  Do I register with those sites and then am linked?  Please tell me a bit about AdSense and those sites.  What do they do?  I'm learning as I go.

You may have to do a little more research on social media sites and their functions, K.

In short, you set up FB and Twitter accounts to engage people in conversations about your favorite topics. Then, whenever you write a new article, you post a link on your FB/Twitter accounts to promote it to your followers.

You should put the profile links of your FB/Twitter/Google+ accounts into your Wizzley settings, so people can see the respective icons on your pages and follow you on those social media sites, as well.

AdSense has nothing to do with it.

There's no requirement that you be on any of those sites, if you don't want to. I'm not any of them. If you're not familiar with them, try one at a time. They can be enormous time-wasters, but if you enjoy socializing, they're a good way to get a following.

There is always the hope that someone reading your article will share it with their FB/Twitter/Google+ mates, too. I'm a Twitter fan, refuse to have anything to do with FB (that's my husband's area, so he picks up anything useful to his circle that I tweet and passes it on) and so far as I know he's not on Google+ either, nor am I. We share links with our preferred private membership forums and blogs too. I write a regular blog, he belongs to a private members' forum where they share links of interest to themselves (computer geeks, didn't you guess by my articles?) and things are then shared onward from there.

I also use StumbleUpon as a good link propagator, had 40 or so likes on my last piece.

just a few ideas, but as Chef says, research is always a good idea. There's Pinterest too, which I haven't taken to but which many report good things about.

Described by one of my clients as 'a literary grammarian', writing, researching and reading are requirements for sanity, at least this side of the keyboard.
