Hi!

Sorry for asking so many questions and thank you all for being so helpful!

I see that, obviously, we can't use photos we don't have permission for. On the guidelines it says you should own the photo. I'd like to use an Etsy image. I've sent a message to the shop owner who took the photo. If she gives her permission is it ok to use the photo, crediting her and linking to her shop, even though it's copyrighted?

Obviously no money in it for me, but nice to support other small to medium businesses. :)

If you link to a certain product on Amazon, Zazzle, etc. then you can use that image.

Thank you. I understand that. But with images in places we don't have modules for, such as Etsy, where images are owned by someone and not available under creative commons, can we use them if we have the owner's permission?

I would imagine the same logic applies, since it's in the owner's interest for you to use that image. But wait for others to confirm this.

Thank you. :)

It seems logical but I'm obviously not up on all the norms and unwritten rules here, yet.

If the Etsy shop owner gives you permission (and I bet they will), then use the image with a link to the item.  I have been given permission from many sellers at Etsy to do just that, although it's usually for one of my blogs.

Unless Wizzley doesn't like the idea, I say yes, do it!

With permission you can use any pictures you like.  Smile

That's brilliant, thank you so much. :)

The etsy seller seems really pleased, so I'm quite chuffed!
