Question about Viewers

Again, if this has already been discussed, sorry.  But I noticed on my statistics page that the blue part--percentage of Wizzley hits that are coming from the website is increasing.  How can I get my stuff seen on the other places?

Lybrah, I think you mean the blue slice of the pie that comes from Wizzley readers. In order to get more readers, you may want to pin your articles and get active on Twitter. Only a tiny percent of my traffic here comes from the search engines. I'd like more, but it is what it is. Yet, I've still managed to make a little money this month.

If you want to be noticed by search engines, there are in general two things to consider:

1. Does anybody look for info you are offering?

2. Is there already somebody else who provides info you are offering?

1. The most valuable step is keyword research. Unfortunately this is not something you can learn in five minutes. On the other hand if you are persistent, you can do kw research better than 99 percent of web writers. It is not a rocket science, but it may be a bit boring to some writers.

2. You can neglect competition, if you are willing to invest a lot of time and energy to build your reputation. Depending on subject you are writing about, this may take years. Or you can repeat first step and write only about things with low competition and hope nobody else will decide to compete with you in your lifetime.

The most precious knowledge I got while writing for web is definitely kw research. More you know about that, better your results will be. By results I mean traffic, followers and earnings.

Hope this helps!

My top slices of pie on the stats page are Wizzley, Google, and Pinterest.  However I see 2 Pinterest slices - the other one is www.pinterest.

Is that just a difference in how people search for the same site?

Lybrah, I agree with ologsinquito about using other places to promote your pages, but also use those places to promote Wizzley articles other than your own.  This is a good idea especially if you don't have many pages.  By sending people to Wizzley they may end up reading your pages if the ones you promote are in the same category.

If you don't do Pinterest I suggest you look into it.  It's one of the most simple sites to use, as well as Twitter.

If you have blogs, like to your articles there.

I pinned many of my articles last night, and it made a world of difference.  Thanks for the advice.  Now how do I get them to come back? ;)

Beats me! Surprised

Seriously, you must write related articles so they will come visit those and then see your older stuff.  And you must have the most interesting pages ever so "they" will bookmark them and come back.

You must type until your fingerprints get worn off ...  ....!!!!!!
