What to do about a nasty comment?

I got a trollish comment on one of my Wizzles.  While I would like to give everyone the chance to voice their opinion, this one out and out accused me of plagerism.  I responded by saying if they think I cut and pasted anything they should take it directly to Wizzley.  I'm safe in the knowlege I didn't (except a one line quotation, but they accused me of taking that and more).

I don't really like my response as I like to keep everything nice and cordial, but I don't want someone accusing me of that kind of stuff, especially on one of my Wizzles.

Should I delete their post and my response?  I have a feeling they'll think they've won (seems to be one of those type of people) but I can't be having accusations like that on my pages.  Not cool.

Thanks!

Well you know you didn't copy anything, so I'd delete and forget abou it. Was it a fellow Wizzler or just someone off the street so to speak.

I believe them to be off the street, as their name and picture aren't linked to anything.

My gut tells me to delete it too.  Will do.

Thanks!

You could not have comments show until you approve them?

It seems to be the day for comments. I've gotten two that I've had to ponder because they added links.

One link does lead to a candy give away, which I did sign up for since it is one of my favorite kinds of candy, which was the focus of the wizzle. The other comment was thoughtful and I think did add value of some sort so I let it go.

And they didn't involve anything made made any body parts bigger or work better.

brl, I set all comments for approval before they appear.  I would also advise deleting.  And Digby, I have a policy of deleting all comments with links.  It is rare that I let one stay.  I want people to click on what I have on the page, not someone else's link.  That is just me.  :)

Yes, I think I'm going to change my settings.  Right now I only have a handfull of Wizzles so the comments are quite managable, but down the road that will change I'm sure.

Digby, an offer for candy would have got me too.  :)

I hear ya, Digby. I'm just about fed up with all that nose-expander spam.

I mean, who needs a BIGGER nose? If I'd hook my nose into a tree trunk, I could fall asleep while standing up!

And why would I want to add 6 inches to my nose? Really, why?

I couldn't turn around in my living room without wiping my treasured cook book collection off the shelves.

Geez.

I promise, I come over here just to see what humorous comeback Chef Keem is going to post. Hilarious!
