I came because of a post by Katiem - I hope she got credit..

I'm not sure yet what I'm going to use Wizzley for.

One thing I immediately dislike and did not see a way to change is the "newest first" comments sorting.  I really, really detest that.    I'm not crazy about orange text for headings either but I can live with that, I guess :)

Other than that, it looks good.

There are 15 themes with different colors so you should be able to find a few that do not have orange headings.

Welcome to the site.

But the comments are always backwards?

If you signed up from Katie's referral link, she'll get credit.

I'm not sure yet what I'm going to use Wizzley for.

When you've figured it out and begin enjoying Wizzley, then we can discuss your   suggestions for improvement. So far, no other members have expressed their disagreement with our comment system.

Other than that, it looks good.

Other than that, welcome to Wizzley, Tony!  Smile

I don't know if I used her link - I just followed a G+ link she made.

Oh, well:  my fault.  Sorry Katie.

As to the comments, it's not really a matter of improvement.  It's a matter of choice.  Some people think backwards is better and for some subjects, it might be.  For example "Please leave a note in the comments indicating the date you first saw a hummingbird this year" - that definitely should be newest first.

But when people are replying to older comments, newest first is confusing.

Just my opinion.. well, really not, it's also an opinion shared by many others, which is why i expected to see a choice for sorting comments.

Choice is good, isn't it?   :)

"So far, no other members have expressed their disagreement with our comment system."

Surely that isn't meant to imply that my ideas have no value because no other member has mentioned it?

I would also hope that

"When you've figured it out" doesn't mean that being new to Wizzley makes my opinion (an opinion formed with the benefit of over 20 years doing this stuff) less valued?

If so, I think I came to the wrong place.  I hope not?

Tony - let's forget the pissing match and start over, shall we?  Smile

We prefer to show always the newest comments because it provides an article with continuous, updated content. That's good SEO.

If we'd offer a choice, some authors would start with the newest comments, and others would choose a chronological order. We think that would confuse our readers.

Rest assured, we recognize your expertise and value your opinion. Friends again?

Absolutely.  I just wanted to be sure I wasn't reading anything else into this..

I think you've done a nice job here.  I'd like to be more focused here than I am in other venues, though I have hesitation about that, too.

We'll see.  I was just spending a few minutes kicking the tires on that idea when the notification of this post came through.

Great to see you here. FYI, I'm writing for Wizzley just like HubPages. Will be writing about Cape Cod and New England travel here.

Uhmm. Did your wife finally hide your wig?

No, I hid it from her :)

Actually, I just decided that I ought to present the same face everywhere.  It's all stitched together  through Google authorship anyway, so I thought a common profile picture made sense.

It also is related to my compulsive need for honesty.  That picture was getting old, so it represented a younger me.   I feel a need to always show my real face, even as the wrinkles start to be more prominent.

Newest comments first is completely standard in the blogging world - I hate the way hubpages does it - with oldest first - often get comments people thinking a hub is out of date because they only noticed the 3-year-old comments at the top!

I would be VERY unhappy if Wizzley changed it!

Welcome, I'm sure you'll find Wizzley a nice place to be, it takes a little while to get your Wizz legs but in no time you'll be swimming with the big fish.

Katie if you notify the Wizzley team, they will put Pcunix under your referral.  I think I read something to this effect a few months ago(not sure though).  Though  Pcunix should agree too (which ofcourse he will)
