Hi, newbie to online writing here. Still getting used to the modules in Wizzley and looking into the money-making end.

I'm a bit lost on Chitika and Amazon Affiliates, though, on how they work in WIzzley. As I don't have any pages up yet, is it possible to sign up for them right away, or do you need to have articles out?

Also: can Wizzley display special characters? I'm currently working on an article that would be improved if I could display Chinese and Japanese characters.

Thanks.

Hello and welcome!

I don't know about the characters, but I do use many different characters on RateTea and I do so by having the pages encoded in the UTF-8 unicode encoding.  I've been using UTF8 as the default encoding on everything on my server for a long time now because the benefits are huge, so if Wizzley doesn't currently use it maybe that's something they could look into.  There are so many benefits for being able to include a wide range of symbols too--not just different languages.

About these ad networks, you don't need to sign up for them right away.  My personal recommendation would be, unless you have other websites to put them on, to not sign up until you get appreciable traffic.  Getting traffic is where most of the work is and once you have a stream of traffic, these services take just minutes to sign up for.

I currently have an Amazon affiliate program, but I am not signed up for Chitika.  I currently use Amazon + Adsense for revenue generation on Wizzley.  I already had accounts on both of these though before I signed up for Wizzley.  The good thing about these things is that I could just use my old account...which I already get substantial revenue from through RateTea and Cazort.net.

Wizzley seemlessly integrates, just plugging in the ID.  Do you have a website of your own, or any blogs or other sites you would use an Amazon affiliate account with, or is this the only place you plan on publishing for now?

younghopes: :) Looking forward to your first article.

Cazort: Oh. Too bad about the special characters.

I don't have a blog of my own, so I don't think I'm anywhere near qualified for adsense. I am (technically) a co-writer on a blog with adsense, actually, but it's another person's adsense account we're using. But the future existence of the blog is rather murky given the lack of traffic, so...

(And, okay, confession: I do want to distance myself from the blog for now. The, ah, lack of quality of my entries there is embarrassing. Is that weird?)
