New to Wizzley! Can You Please Show Me How to Load My Profile Photograph?

Hello!  I'm ArleneVPoma, and I am excited to be here for a much needed change in scenery and a writing challenge.  Since signing up for Wizzley, I have not been able to load my profile photograph.  What size of photograph do I need?  How long does a photograph take to load?  I haven't had any luck so far, so I will be grateful for any help you can give me.  Thanks!

Hey Arlene nice to have you over from there :D When you log in just go to your account settings and you'd get all the info you need. Click the drop down button near your profile name (Up right) and go to settings. Need anything ask

Hi Arlene,

I think when you begin the process of adding the photo it will say what size and I think it's pretty small.

Sorry I can't remember at the moment, but it shouldn't take long.

Welcome! Hope to "see" you soon!

As the others said, but if I remember correctly it is best not too have an image where the edges are really important to the picture.

I mean that  you need a little bit of space around the important part of the image. I think it took me two or three attempts to get the image sitting right and no important parts cropped off.  That might just have been me though. I am often a 'mix 'of wanting it to look perfect but taking the long route to get there.

Nice to see you here, I have seen your name before over there.

Hiya ArleneVPoma

Welcome to Wizzley!

Sometimes photos won't load if they're too big or have a transparency over the top.  I tend to change it to jpg, which will flush out any transparencies.  This is particularly true of images off the net.

Good luck,

yours

Jo

Thank you for the warm welcome!  I am floored by all your helpful responses.  Yes, I will need to shrink the photograph because it is way too big.  I will try it again and again until I get it right.  Nice to see the familiar faces from "over there."

Hi!

In general photos around 100 k should be perfect for web, not only for profiles, this is true for articles too. Larger photos will increase load time and much smaller just don't look good.

JPG is the most universal format when you use different platforms. I have been experienced more problems with PNG and GIF, but of course this is just the general advice.

Welcome:)

You can upload images up to about 5 MB. If they are too large, they will be scaled automatically.

Thank you!  It took a shot from hubby's cell phone, so now I will feel part of the gang once I fill in the blanks to my profile.  Until I write something, I am just thrilled to find all these great articles to read!

Just one point. Did you press the save button at the bottom of the screen? When I pressed the "choose File" button, I thought my picture would upload automatically. I've just spent fifteen minutes staring at the screen like a dummy.

Hi Arlene. I am very new to Wizzley and just created my profile.  I had no trouble with my profile pic which I thought I would because I thought 2.3 MB was going to be too big.  The size was 363 X 357 pixels.  As long as you keep it within that range you will be okay.
